    Introduction

    What is approval?

Approval is the action of approving of something, giving a favourable opinion. For example, a seal of approval is an indication that something is officially accepted or given a satisfactory of authorization (Concordance Dictionary). However, the Spiritual perspectives of an Approval are metaphorically used as the testing of the Christian’s faith. According to 1st Peter 1:7:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Hence (2nd Corinthians 5:9): Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

In other to please Him, saints ought to be doing things that makes God happy. He takes pleasure in His people. The Scripture declared that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26):

And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

All others reproduce after their kind. Man was the only one made in the image of God, but the Creator of mankind was unhappy with His creation as pre-planned, doing things in their own ways as (2nd Corinthians 5:10) affirmed: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

There is a book of reckoning because everyone shall stand in God’s presence to give account. Except we strive hard to do His will in order to please Him before an approval is obtained. Christianity is of the Jews, but The Saviour paid a sacrificial offering for humanity to both the Jews and the Gentiles. He is a universal God.

Jesus Christ is the only judge (Roman 14:12):

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore, specified in 1st Peter 4:5: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

For that reason, pleasing God relocates you from the realm of carnality to spirituality of God. To obtain God’s approval is to live a well- pleasing lifestyle, because a man in the flesh cannot please God and the wages of sin is death. God was able to declare to His only begotten Son as stated in Mark 1:11: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

One testimony you must have is that you pleased God because there is a heavenly certificate of approval attached for doing His will. Everyone who pleases God gets a divine promotion. Some of our patriarchs like Enoch, Abraham etc. and Jesus were accepted. You can be too. To what extent have you pleased God? If we do, you and I will care about everything God cares about. You will obey Him totally, because partial obedience is disobedience.

Colossians 1:27 stated: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Thus there is no reason why believers cannot please God as
