      He was stunned.

      Sitting on the edge of the bed, Joel stared down at the phone in his hand, his heart slamming in his chest.

      Trent’s in love with me?

      Seriously?

      What the fuck is this about? Trent’s girl crazy, so what makes him think he wants me?

      As the young jock continued to gape at Trent’s text, the seconds turned into minutes.

      Before his obsession with Knox Hamilton, Joel would’ve been thrilled to hear that his best friend wanted him. But Joel’s sore ass rubbing against the mattress was a glaring reminder of his newfound role as the man’s submissive.

      Maybe we could’ve been a couple, Joel considered. Trent’s hot and I love him, but I don’t want him like that, not anymore.

      I want my best friend’s father instead.

      And now that I have a taste of Knox Hamilton, I can’t turn back. I won’t!

      But what the hell am I gonna do?

      If only he hadn’t seen Trent being disciplined by his father on that fateful night perhaps Joel would’ve been on a different path—maybe one that would’ve led him to Trent.

      But that wasn’t what happened…

      Joel: I’m not leaving you hanging. His fingers shook as he texted. He kept hitting the wrong letters, so he had to retype the second part of the message again. But you’re in Tallahassee.

      That’ll give me a few minutes. But no matter if I have an hour or a minute, it’s not gonna change the fact that I’m in love with Trent’s father.

      Alas, his statement of the obvious didn’t give Joel much of a reprieve.

      Trent: I can’t stop thinking about you, Joel. The distance doesn’t matter to me. We’re still planning to go to college together, right?
