Trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love though the stars walk backward.

CHAPTER 1

Monday – Cory

I should have kissed her. I should have had the balls to kiss her when we were swimming in the river. Who wouldn’t have kissed her? She was a transcendent beauty in the pale moonlight with the clear waters of the river breaking around her curves. She’d been so close to me, too. I’d been able to smell the watermelon lip gloss she was wearing and the strawberry scented shampoo she’d used on her hair, and some richer, delicious smell that was Sky herself. She’d smelt delicious. She’d smelled just like an angel might if it were trying to calm you down and remind you of what love was made of.

I didn’t kiss her, though. That was the simple fact of the matter. I didn’t kiss her. I should have done it. I had the opportunity to, but I didn’t. This was the main thought cycle I had when I woke up late Sunday afternoon with nothing but a hangover and series of regrets
