About this ebook
“A healthy and ideal system of education would be where a teacher would patiently impart knowledge, instead of curriculum, upon the students, only after assessing their acceptability – where a student would acquire knowledge in order to learn, not to earn – where the parents would be willing to make necessary sacrifices in order to adorn their child with curiosity and thereafter nourish that curiosity, regardless of how absurdly impractical it becomes to the eyes of the society.”
One of the world’s seminal minds in modern science comes to the rescue of today’s stressed and chaotic system of education. In The Education Decree, Abhijit Naskar, the man who has brought Neuroscience into practice towards dismantling the citadels of religious conflicts, carefully investigates the modern education system while revealing to us the passage to progress.
The Education Decree is a lucid guide to the real education of the mind for the teacher, the students and the parents.

Introduction
––––––––
What is the purpose of life on earth? What is the ultimate goal of a species? What is the reason behind the birth of a creature? All these are abstract, philosophical questions that have no absolute, right answer. Individuals with varied perceptions of life and universe would come up with vividly different answers for these questions. Here, the more insight the mind has of Nature’s causality, the better and more influential answers it can concoct to these questions.
However, let’s make a naïve attempt to answer them while standing on the bed-rock of life itself – on the bed-rock of biology. This entire universe that we think we can effectively contemplate, is a biocentric universe. It is so because, the reality of the universe is irrelevant to the reality perceived through the biological senses of a living creature. Hence, everything we perceive as reality, is merely a simulation of biology. So, now the question is, what is the point of such simulation? Again, with our feet on the rock of biology in the wild, we can answer that, the ultimate point of it all is survival. However, unlike the animal kingdom on earth, we the humans are no longer residing in the wild. We no longer fight with our fellow species, in order to survive. And in fact, we consciously no longer fight for survival as we used to do in the wild.
Rather, we have become so advanced that we are now driven by the modern faculties of the mind in order to achieve superiority. However, the primeval face of our mind has not still totally vanished from the face of human biology. Instead, these primeval elements, when combined with the modern faculties of cognition, have the potential to either nourish or destroy the whole world and all its species, beyond the wildest dreams of any single person - ancient or modern - literate or illiterate.
The methodical implementation of modern human faculties that allow us human beings to transcend the physical limits of biological evolution is Education. However, today, the term education has become somehow synonymous with economic benefits and due to the primeval craving for security, it has disgracefully lost its very core of transcendence into the unknown. Thus, the very evolutionary seeds that gave birth to the method known as education have gone almost extinct in the modern industrialized system of soulless competition and regurgitation. Hence emerged the reason for me to get to the root of its quite unofficially accepted problems, and to concoct the thought processes that would make necessary amendments to the perceptual errors of what I call the three major nodes of education system, which are the teachers, the students and the parents.
A healthy and ideal system of education would be where a teacher would patiently impart knowledge, instead of curriculum, upon the students, only after assessing their acceptability – where a student would acquire knowledge in order to learn, not to earn – where the parents would be willing to make necessary sacrifices in order to adorn their child with curiosity and thereafter nourish that curiosity, regardless of how absurdly impractical it becomes to the eyes of the society.
The world needs teachers – teachers who have broken their own shackles of indoctrination – teachers who can go beyond the narrow- mindedness of the society. A handful of these young, brave and zealous teachers in every nation, shall be enough to rekindle the spark of pure knowledge in the entire species.
The world needs students – real students who give their passion and curiosity preference over everything else – students who are ready to start small and then keep going towards their goal without the slightest thought of giving up – students who’d get empowered with each failure in the path. A handful of these lion-hearts would be enough to wake up the whole world.
Then the world needs parents – parents who are concerned only about endowing their child with bravery, curiosity and compassion – parents who are unambiguously ready to go against all odds in order to give their child the thoughtful push of optimism and courage every time he or she confronts a failure. If there is one thing you want to do for your child, then do this – raise him or her as a lion and not as a sheep.
CHAPTER 2
Real Education
––––––––
There is nothing ideal in Nature, because it was not created by some sort of ideal Almighty Being with perfect peerless craftsmanship. Nature as it is, has evolved through millions of years out of the biological drive for survival. Hence, education, like any other natural endeavor of the biological system of mind, is neither ideal nor perfect.
However,
