About this ebook

Aewyn and the other survivors planned to take out Lord Lazarus while he was busy fighting the Human Empire, however, on the day that they are set to proceed, she doesn't wake.  Dharazim finds that she's actually in a magical coma and enters her mind to try and bring her back.  While Robyn tries to argue, Dharazim does not listen and falls into a deep sleep next to Aewyn.

As Robyn, Tirador, Rick and Uluk wait, Dharazim searches deep within Aewyn's mind, only to find a dark presence following her steps.  While she's able to find Aewyn, she's unable to convince her to join her and is instead clasped within the tentacles of a powerful Krakenos!

The Druid's virginity is teased by the powerful tentacles as Aewyn is led through the madness within her own mind.  At the same time, Lord Lazarus' powerful Horde begins to siege the Human Empire, readying to physically capture Aewyn and the rest of the survivors.  Will the powerful Pit Lord finally claim victory?

Madness within the Mind - Jenna Powers

Aewyn blinked several times while she looked around, her vision slightly blurred.  She couldn't recall where she was or how she had gotten there.  Her mind felt groggy, as if she were not fully awake.  Footsteps approached from her left, down a long dark hall and she raised her hands, readying a spell.  Unfortunately, she couldn't recite the words she needed.

A lithe, slim figure rushed towards her, with long flowing hair and ears noticeably poking out and upward, an Elf.  Aewyn sighed and put her guard down, slowly placing her hands back at her sides.  When the figure rushed out of the shadows, Aewyn gasped in surprise.

    Leila?!  She called out.

Aewyn!  Her sister responded as she rushed in and hugged her.

Aewyn pushed her sister away and looked around cautiously.  What trickery is this?  She questioned as she stared at her sister.

    Trickery?  Leila asked.

You serve your Lord Lazarus now, Aewyn responded coldly.

In the world outside I do.  I managed to project my mind out of my body to come speak with you, Leila answered.

How...  How is that possible?  Aewyn inquired.

We've all been tasked with translating the works in the Library of High Arts.  While reading some of the ancient texts, I came upon this method, Leila replied.  I subconsciously took notes to try to free myself of Lazarus' influence and it seems to have worked.

You must understand, it is difficult for me to truly believe in your words, Aewyn replied as she crossed her arms, her eyes still shifting from corner to corner.

Yes I know...  After what he made me... no, after what I did, I can understand, Leila said as she looked down at the ground.

In a world that has fallen as far as ours has, forgiveness is rare, Aewyn responded, holding back any of her feelings for her sister.

I understand your hesitation, there is nothing I can say or do that will sway your opinion.  I am here to warn you, Leila said.

Of Lazarus' army?  We already know he's rebuilding the Horde, Aewyn replied.

He has an ancient power with him.  She talks in riddles and even Lazarus fears her.  He won't admit it, but you can see it in his eyes, Leila answered.  She goes by the name Mara and lives within the shadows.  Her eyes... if you were to look into her eyes, she could make you go mad.

    Is she a sorceress?

I don't know.  She stays quiet, hidden.  We hear Lazarus talking to her at times.  But...  Leila paused and looked around cautiously.  Wait...  I sense... Hurry, follow me, she continued as she rushed by Aewyn and took her by the wrist.

Aewyn resisted, standing her ground and defiantly glaring at her sister.  Is this some sort of trick?

She's here.  I can feel it...  The chill within my bones.  We need to go, Leila warned.

We are not in the physical world.  She cannot harm us, Aewyn replied.

Trust me, she can.  Please, what do you have to lose by following me?  Leila pleaded as she pulled on her sister's wrist.

Aewyn sighed and followed along.  The two navigated through the strange, unfamiliar halls.  Aewyn wasn't sure if her mind had generated this labyrinth or if it was from her sister.  Leila rushed down a hall and scanned the empty room.

She's been trying to meet with me in the physical world.  I think she knows something, Leila said as she paused and turned towards Aewyn.

    And you haven't met?

Lazarus has sent me on some.... duties, Leila replied.

And you're concerned if you meet with her, that something will happen?  Aewyn inquired.

Yes.  I think I hold the key to freeing the Lich King, Leila said.

Aewyn kept her lips sealed, knowing that the marking on her sister's back was indeed an ancient spell to break Ariel's frozen curse.  Which in turn, would free the Lich King.

Why do you think that?  Aewyn asked.

I don't know.  Just...  something.  I feel it, Leila replied.

There's only one way for you to know for sure, meet with her, Aewyn said coolly.

You don't understand...  If I do possess something she requires to free the Lich King, she'll tear me apart until she gets it.  Aewyn, I...  I don't fear death, but I do fear dying a dishonored soul.

Aewyn bit down on the corner of her lower lip.  She couldn't help but feel sadness for her own sibling.  She wouldn't dare kill you, even if you were the key.

Are you certain?  What if I don't need to be alive for the spell to unlock?  What if they just need something from me?  Maybe something that's on me?  Leila questioned.

A loud ringing filled Aewyn's ears and she crumpled to the ground, falling on her knees as an intense headache rocked her.  Leila quickly rushed by her sister's side, holding her.

    Are you okay?  Leila asked.

This...  This ringing... Do you not hear it?  Aewyn questioned.

Oh no...  She must be here.  Grab my hand, Leila said as she reached out.

Aewyn grabbed Leila's wrist but was unable to stand.  Leila reached around and pulled her up and began helping her out of the room down another random hallway.  The ringing intensified briefly before fading away.  A chill ran down Aewyn's spine as she looked at her sister.

Who is this... Mara?  Aewyn questioned.

    "I don't know.  The only
