She’s also written the Single Shot New Pulp tale “Ghost of the Airwaves,” a short story offered in electronic format only from Pro Se Press.From her personal self-published projects, her best known titles in this area include the rural crime series THE WILLOWBROOK SAGA.In other genres, Shannon's published short stories include “Meeting the Monster” in the Emby Press anthology SUPERHERO MONSTER HUNTER: THE GOOD FIGHT and "Cover Story" in ARIA KALSAN: MYSTERIES OF THE FUTURE.Shannon holds a BA in Radio-TV and English from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, which she considers to be her hometown. She also holds an MA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, along with additional education in screenwriting, project management, library technician studies, and most recently a certificate earned with distinction in General Business with Emphasis in Marketing from UCLA Extension. Currently, she is working on a Masters of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University.She is married to FLYING GLORY AND THE HOUNDS OF GLORY collaborator and fellow author Kevin Paul Shaw Broden.       INTRODUCTION

      Discover Words began life as simply a URL for a class project.

      Enrolled in a User Experience course, my end project was to create a user interface for a product. I didn’t feel comfortable creating something for a fictional site without actually owning the URL. So, I thought about what my passions and what would be fun to design, prototype, and share with people with similar interests for feedback. What I chose to create turned out to be DISCOVERWORDS.COM, a web based book club with features to compete with Goodreads that would be an app, since Goodreads didn’t have one at the time. Go figure, finals week came the news Amazon bought Goodreads and the rest of that is history.

      This left me owning a URL I wanted to figure out what to do with. At the time, demand proved to be high enough on my blog INFINITE HOUSE OF BOOKS at http://www.house-of-books.com that it seemed author interviews and guest posts and book spotlights and excerpts didn’t seem to get enough attention. For a while, discoverwords.com launched as a sister site that featured only excerpt spotlights, so that people looking for content could find what they wanted.

      A major disaster on the now-former blog’s ISP destroyed both blogs in early 2015, to a place they couldn’t be restored from backups. When I decided to start over from scratch, I’d lost too much momentum to justify two blogs. Yet, I’d built the brand. That incident gave birth to a video log series that launches the examinations and discussions this supplementary guide revolves around. Also included are some of my observations of social media as a whole based on my experiences.

      In another period of uncertainty about the future of the video logs, I thought about doing a series of cozy mysteries about a place called the Discoverwords library. However, as I started that, those characters evolved with ideas of their own as well. The two short stories, the first of which was previously serialized on the web, also appear in this supplemental guide and serve as an introduction to couple Bry and Blake, another couple under the ROMANTIC SPONTANEOUS CHOICES banner who are fated to journey and discover words beyond the library, as I came to learn while writing this. The second one is more of a short-short that

      I hope you enjoy this journey discovering my thoughts on the power of words and how I’ve worked with bringing them to social media.
