About this series
Emo the Bunny preferred gloomy days, walks over a cliff and misery of any sort. One day while hiding from sunlight, he saw something unusual. Normally he'd take a nap and try to forget about it, but this time he took an interest only to discover a conspiracy the likes of which no child would ever suspect!
Ducks, bunnies, chickens, squirrels, geese, bears, cows, robins and The Easter Bunny all play a part in the disturbing events which show that woodland creatures aren't always as cute, fuzzy and innocent as they lead us to believe!
Titles in the series (10)
- Drippy the Peg Legged Rainbow
3
Rainbows have existed throughout the universe since shortly after its inception. Born from light and moisture, they have expanded along with galaxies and other cosmic goo. They only die from the destruction of worlds, absence of moisture or the long loss of light. Many are ancient, being nearly as old as the universe itself. Others are young, only born moments ago. All are beautiful, although many beings in the universe think them to be evil bearers of bad tidings and illness. This is the story of one rainbow, neither ancient nor young . . . This is a SHORT STORY.
- Zachary Zombie and the Wicked Worm
8
Zachary Zombie has been sent by Gert the Wicked Witch to find the magical Dagger of Gik from the ruins of an old wizard’s mansion. He is accompanied by Al, Gus, and Carl, three fellow zombies. Thick forest surrounds the decaying mansion and even darker passages with untold perils wait for the undead adventurers inside. Will they discover the lost Dagger of Gik? What dangers await the rotting zombies? Who will lose the most body parts? And who, what, or where in the world is Gik?
- Unholy Cow
4
Everyone keeps talking about holy cows, but nobody wants to discuss the evil, unholy cows. They creep through nighttime pastures, looking for the next opportunity to make the world a worse place to live. Opal’s parents think Halloween is evil and that candy is bad for little children. They have never let her go trick or treating. Opal sits at home with her emo bunny and longs to dress up and ask strangers for candy. Runyx the Unholy Cow is about to change that. Together with Stryk the Scarecrow and Able the Raven, they spend a night looking for the best houses to get candy bars. There is always mischief to be had along the way. Unholy Cow is a short story.
- Attack of the Sugar Plum Fairies
5
The Sugar Plum Fairies are tired of dancing for nothing. To make matters worse, the North Pole is freezing, they have to wear skimpy outfits and their poor little legs get worn out quickly. When the Elvin Labor Union was formed, the poor little fairies were left out of any sort of fair bargaining agreement. The time has come for all of that to change. Everyone knows Christmas Eve is the best time to attack the North Pole. Santa’s getting ready to deliver toys, the elves are partying and the reindeer have finished playing their reindeer games. Can the legendary North Pole withstand yet another attack? Will Christmas come to a screeching halt? Join three stealthy fairies: Sydae, Araedae and Zannae, as they try to make life easier for all Sugar Plum Fairies. Will they be able to succeed in their mission? What’s happened to Santa? Will the elves stop the fairies from their task? And what secret is Mrs. Claus hiding from the world? Caution: This story is not for normal children. If you have any intention of raising a well-adjusted child, this is not the right tale for you. Attack of the Sugar Plum Fairies is a short story.
- Steampunk Roo
It is a little known fact that Steampunk animals roam the wild Outback of Australia. They live a rugged, but good life. Steampunk City is the center of their civilization, run by Governor Kevin Koala. Outside of Steampunk City are vast stretches of arid lands. The Steampunk Animal Alliance has built a series of water stops with tanks of water supplied by windmills that pump water from deep in the ground. From them, Steampunk animals can refill their water tanks to keep their gears running. Horrible news has come that someone is destroying those water stops. It’s up to Steampunk Roo, an agent of the Steampunk Animal Alliance to investigate and hopefully bring a stop to the terrible destruction!
- Naughty Nanoworms
7
Life on the streets is generally peaceful for Albert. An old rusted shopping cart is his best friend. It holds his blankets and all the treasures he finds in his travels. He minds his own business and people leave him alone. That’s just the way he likes it. Meezer, a young cat, is abandoned to the streets by thoughtless owners. He only wanted a little food, love and a finger or ten to bite on. Life on the streets is just as lonely for him as it is for Albert. Perhaps there will be someone to feed him beyond a hole in a chain-link fence. Nanoworms spend their existence in a lab, being created for purposes they can’t begin to fathom . . . or can they? Perhaps there is a way to escape? Why exactly would nanoworms need to know martial arts anyway? The streets are not without their hazards. While avoiding one type of trouble, Albert walks his way into even worse trouble. Shopping carts, skateboards and government conspiracies are a bad mix. Will he keep his shopping cart? Will Meezer come up with a plan to destroy the world? Can a shopping cart and a skateboard ever get along? The seventh entry in the Stories for Demented Children Series is a delightful romp through the city streets with homeless, yet likeable characters.
- Phairyphant
6
Mystical phairyphants have existed since the days of wooly mammoths and mastodons. Phairydust allows them to fly on powerful, gossamer wings while they use their trunks to sniff the air for opportunities to make the world a better place for elephants. This is the story of Elly, one such phairyphant. It is a peaceful day in the African savanna as she settles down next to a stream to wash off old phairy dust and possibly take a nap in the shade of some trees. Pachy is a young elephant separated from his herd by vicious lions. He escapes them by hiding in the trees, but doesn’t know his way back to his mother. Perhaps a phairyphant would be just the thing to help him. Krek, a heron with a French accent, has misplaced his memory and needs help finding it. The problem is that he doesn’t remember exactly where he misplaced it. Together, they set out to search for Krek’s memory and Pachy’s herd. The savanna is a perilous place though. Will they find danger instead? Who is Mr. Giraffe? Does Elly have enough phairydust to save the day? The sixth entry in the Stories for Demented Children Series is a delightful romp through the African savanna with odd, yet likeable characters.
- Pow the Panda, The Case of the Rainbow Dragon
In the fantastically roaring year of 1925, business is good for a hard-working private eye in Chinatown. Pow the Panda sits in his office, waiting for trouble to come through the door. He’d rather have food delivered, but it never seemed to show up before trouble did. When trouble does show up, a girl named Opal, a gorilla, a bear, a bed and bunch of bad puns join it. Pow is left with the Case of the Rainbow Dragon, but before he can solve it, he needs to find out who the Rainbow Dragon is. The tenth story in the Odd Stories for Children series is a brisk dash through foggy streets where an endless supply of jokes trip up the journey. Caution, this story has puns. It may also contain nuts.
- Zachary Zombie and the Lost Boy
Zachary is the personal zombie of Gert the Wicked Witch. She sent him to fetch newts from the forest. Along the way, he finds a lost boy named Tobias who had been following an emo bunny in the hopes of holding it and making it feel better. When the boy asks nicely for help getting to his home in the village, Zachary agrees. Along the way, they run into a cranky stag and a pretty woman who dreams of meeting a prince. A party in the cemetery isn’t the proper place to take a boy, but zombies aren’t always proper and one of the worst things about villagers is that they always seem to have a supply of pitchforks and torches. Will the boy make it home? Will Zachary give in to the craving for brainsss? This is a short story.
- The Emo Bunny That Should
Emo the Bunny preferred gloomy days, walks over a cliff and misery of any sort. One day while hiding from sunlight, he saw something unusual. John H. Carroll
John H. Carroll was the youngest of seven children and was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970 where he was kept in a dresser drawer with the clean socks. Luckily, he wasn’t kept with the dirty socks or else he might have grown up to become slightly warped. As a child, John spent most of his time wandering through the Mojave Desert in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the sky, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. One of his favorite memories is watching his dad build the fuselage of Evel Kneivel’s skycycle in their garage. One of his least favorite moments was watching that skycycle fall into the Snake River. (Not his dad’s fault and he has documentation to prove it, so nyah)As a teenager, John spent most of his time driving wherever he could in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the road, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He was the captain of the chess team, lettered in golf and band while in high school, and wasn’t beaten up anywhere near as much as one might imagine. As an adult, John spends most of his time staring at a computer screen in an attempt to avoid people. He stares at the monitor for hours, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. Occasionally, he looks around to see what’s happening on planet Earth. Quite frankly, it frightens him. He’s just going to do his best to write as many books as he can before aliens disintegrate humanity for being so irritating.Emo bunny minions surround John at most times. He is their imaginary friend and they look to him for guidance. At one point, they took over the world. No one noticed because they left everything exactly as it was. They gave the world back after a week because it was depressing. The Ryallon Series is his most popular endeavor into the field of writing. His Stories for Demented Children have lightened the hearts of many strange children and adults. He writes in the evenings and weekends whenever possible.
