Phrase is a group of words that functions as a single unit, lacking either a subject or a predicate, or both. Phrase is a group of words that may contain a subject only, a predicate only and in some cases do not contain both a subject and a predicate.

Phrase is of different types. They are noun phrase, adjectival phrase, adverbial phrase, prepositional phrase, gerund phrase, participial phrase and infinitive phrase.
It clearly explains the noun phrase. The noun phrase can function in a sentence as a subject, an object or a complement, a word needed after linking verbs such as is, was, appear, seem, sound, consider.
It analyzes the verb phrase. The verb phrase is made up of a main verb and an auxiliary verb. The verb phrase can function as a predicate only in a sentence
It appraises the adjectival phrase. The adjectival phrase is a phrase that does the work of an adjective in a sentence. An adjective is the head of an adjectival phrase.
It evaluates the adverbial phrase. The adverbial phrase is a phrase that functions as an adverb in a sentence. The adverbial phrase modifies or tells us more about a verb or an adjective.
It discusses the prepositional phrase. The prepositional phrase is a group of words headed by a preposition and usually functions as an adverb, adjective or occasionally as a noun.
It examines the gerund phrase. The gerund phrase is a phrase that consists of a gerund and any modifiers, objects or complements. The gerund phrase functions as a noun.
It highlights the participial phrase. The participial phrase consists of a present participle or a past participle and any modifiers, objects or complements. The participial phrase functions as an adjective.
It points out the common mistakes in the use of phrases. It throws light on the correct use of phrases.
