    Introduction

    Children face many challenges growing up, and their education shouldn’t be another obstacle to overcome. Many parents across the nation are turning to one method to ensure their child receives the specialized attention and personal time he or she deserves: homeschooling.

    In the past, homeschooling carried with it a certain stigma of being an anti-social student ill-equipped for integration into the real world. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Recent statistics shows a surge in homeschool enrollment among students of all ages, with colleges often valuing such students thanks to their carefully cultivated interest in learning. The vast majority of homeschooled students appreciate their experience later in life and succeed greatly in careers they were able to focus on, themselves, as a growing student.

    Yet there are rarely success stories without stories of failure. When a student leaves the ranks of the publically educated, he or she entrusts their education and future to their private teacher—a teacher who will be, statistically, one of their parents. The quality of education received can vary greatly depending upon how you, the teacher, are able to overcome the many challenges of being an at-home teacher to your child.
