About this ebook

Will Lucy and Wyatt’s love burn hot like molten glass?
Lucy Torin uses her fire magic to make the amazing blown glass creations that sell in her family’s store. The magic that runs in her helps her mold the glass to her desire. However, her fire magic does nothing to help her catch the eye of Wyatt, her brother’s friend. She begins to wonder if she’ll ever find a man to look at her as anything other than a little sister.
Or will it fizzle out forever when another man comes between them?
Wyatt Nicholson moved away from heartache to the small town of Scottsville, not expecting to find Lucy. Her passion and warmth pulls him in, but dating his friend’s sister is not a good idea. Then a man with an unhealthy attachment to Lucy threatens to take her from everyone, forcing Wyatt to see what his heart already knows.

    Chapter 1 Special Order

This is a technique used to transfer the glass from the blowpipe. Lucy smiles at the empty room, going over what she plans to say at the first glass blowing class on Thursday.

She turns the pipe as the glass glows inside the furnace one last time before wetting off the glass pig from the punty. Lucy has been blowing and shaping glass since she was about seven. Just small things at first, working with her dad in the shop. But over the years her parents had to work to keep her out of the shop and force her to do school activities rather than work on glass. Lucy didn’t mind, she loved working with glass and it was never her parents’ intention to keep her out of the family business, just to keep her from working too young.

Next we put it in the lear, a computer controlled oven where the glass cools down. The annealing process allows the glass to cool without cracking or breaking, Lucy murmurs as she deftly makes the transfer, placing it inside the lear to cool.

As she finishes the special-order piece, she checks the temperature of the lear. This is the fourth special order in a month that has come in for her specifically. There have been several special orders in the past, but never any naming her specifically, until now.

Lucy grabs another blowpipe from the oven to start a new piece of art. At the pot, she gathers a clump of molten glass on the end of the blowpipe, turning it to keep the glass from dripping off as she pulls it out.

This oven keeps the punties and pipes hot. The temperature is kept around two thousand degrees, so you must be careful when gathering glass. Lucy wipes the beaded sweat off her forehead with her sleeve as she moves to the steel table.

Here we have the marver, where we shape the glass into a long cylinder to work with it, she speaks absently as she works the glass.

After the glass is stable enough, Lucy blows into the end of the blowpipe, capping it off and making a nice bubble on the opposite end.

This is a parison, you must turn the pipe constantly so that the bubble doesn’t become lopsided. She turns the glass as she talks, moving with fluid grace. The glory hole is where we return with the piece to keep the glass hot, so that we can work with it until we get what we desire.

Lucy rolls it back on the marver, making it more elongated before blowing again to make it a bit bigger. She closes her eyes a moment, feeling the rush of her magic welling in her, a smile plays on her lips. The glass easily molding with the help of the fire inside her. Repeating the process of gathering and shaping, Lucy finally has the length she needs to start sculpting the molten glass. Sitting at her bench, she works it with an ease that few can achieve. A flower starts to take shape, and once Lucy gets it where she wants it, she sits at her table using a torch and pieces of molten glass to color the beautiful flower. The magic pulses inside her, helping her to keep the glass at just the temperature it needs to be for Lucy to make what she wishes.

Lucy remembers every piece she ever made from glass, each was something special. Even when she first started, she seemed to have a special way with the glass, never messing up beyond repair. There were times when she didn’t
