    This story is a sequel to Jake's Crazy Christmas Adventure. Jake is a young Australian boy with a mind for adventure. It is the day after returning home from a Christmas visit with his mother to relatives in northern Norway, where he was secretly taken in a reindeer sleigh to the North Pole by an elf to meet personally with Santa Claus. Despite suffering a bad case of jet-lag, Jake goes to the house of his best mate, Cooper, and tells him of his adventures in Norway. Together, they go looking for their two aboriginal friends, Ken and Ben, at the home of Grandpa Lionel, a local tribal elder, so that Jake can tell them, as well. Ken and Ben are impressed by his adventure, but Grandpa Lionel, a traditional old man, scoffs at all of Jake's travels, and, seeing his jet-lagged fatigue, offers to send the boy on a special virtual-reality adventure to the Dreamtime, to a time that Christians call the Creation. When Jake agrees, and watched by the other boys, Grandpa Lionel places him in a trance to send him on this mind-journey to the Dreamtime, where Jake observes the animals, who are unaware of his presence, as they enact some of the traditional stories and legends that Grandpa Lionel has told him and his friends. In doing so, Jake learns life lessons from their kindness, mistakes and bad behaviour, before being returning from the trance to the real world.

      Jake is a young Australian boy who lives in the small tropical town of Coconut, a place with lots of unusual people and opportunities for fun and adventure.

      Today is the first day of January, New Year’s Day. The previous day, New Year’s Eve, Jake and his mum returned from their Christmas holiday in Tromso, Norway, staying with Jake’s Uncle Lars, Aunt Mary, and twin cousins, Bennie and Kennie. For young Jake, it had begun in such a crazy way. Being tired with jet-lag on his first night there after such a long flight, he had gone to bed early. But just before midnight, he had been awoken by one of Santa Claus’ elves, and flown in a sleigh at ‘warp-speed’ to the North Pole to actually meet with Santa for just a few minutes. And when he told his mum after he returned, she said that it was the jet-lag making him have another strange dream, like the one he had at Easter. That had been a dream about hiking with friends Ken and Ben in mountains; a dream he had never forgotten, because of its strange people, the Easter Bunny, unusual fruit, silly-looking fish, and a giant, scary mud-crab. But his short visit to the North Pole had not been a strange dream this time, and
