The Cross He Carried

About this ebook
There is a famine in the earth today and it’s not one of food, money, or water. Ministers around the world have sold out to a lukewarm message that glosses over sin and leaves its hearers devoid of a true encounter with God. This famine is a lack of true Gospel preaching. As the world cascades down a mountain of moral ineptitude, the Church has neglected to preach the only message containing the power and blessing needed to save a generation: the message of the Cross. It is within this context of contemporary complacency that author Alex Camaerei showcases the timeless message of the Gospel as the crown jewel of Christianity. This book calls both non-believer and believer to open their hearts to God’s greatest gift to us: Salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Cross He Carried - Alex V. Camaerei
This Book is Dedicated to...
11341.jpgFirst and foremost my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you for breathing new life into me five years ago at a prayer meeting. A special thank you is owed to my Pastor for hearing God’s voice and guiding me in God’s will, and his father Dr. Ernest Leonard who was a true pioneer in the Body of Christ. I’d also like to thank Princeton Theological Seminary for allowing me to use their world class library. Last, but not least, I’d like to thank my family; may this book touch your lives.
Preface
11778.jpgGod is always speaking. The first thing you should know about God is that He is a communicator. Often He will speak to us through other people when He has an assignment for us but we aren’t able to hear Him ourselves. The best friends you can have are those who can speak the will of God to you when you are spiritually deaf. This book was born out of obedience to God’s voice being spoken through my Pastor the night I got born again. The Lord spoke through him and said I’d write several books, so here is the fi rst one.
I realize this book is being written in an age when the statisticians are declaring Christianity irrelevant. Millions of young adults do not attend church and those who do are not confronted with any hard truths. In spite of this, I’m not discouraged and neither is God. Yes, I know Christianity and the Cross it preaches are despised more than ever, but I have hope. Isaiah 60 says that as gross darkness covers the earth, the Glory of God will simultaneously arise on God’s people. It is happening this very moment.
I feel called to help facilitate this arising of God’s glory
the only way I know how; exalting the Cross back to its rightful place as the pinnacle of the Christian faith. The biggest roadblock the Church faces in spreading this message of hope around the world is ourselves. When we focus on minor doctrines and squabble in disputes over man-made theology, we lose touch with our purpose which is to tell people about the loving Savior who died for their sins. It is the only message God has ordained to reconcile humanity back to Him.
There are two tragic events happening in our society today. First, there is a movement away from the godly principles upon which our nation was founded. Secondly, the Church is moving away from the central truth of Christ crucified for our sins. This second event is much worse than the first. We teach about the presence of God, but not the one way to His presence. We teach about blessings, but not the sacrifice that made access to the blessings possible.
During the height of the First Great Awakening in the 1700’s, every minister from Wesley to Whitefield preached the same message. It was a message of conviction and not comfort. The central themes were the radical depravity of humanity, our need for a savior, and the presentation of Christ crucified as our only hope. Tragically, this simple Gospel has been replaced by pomp and pageantry as churches globally try to attract fans rather than converts.
All of this brings me to why I’m encouraged. God has placed this book on my heart to make people aware of the Biblical Gospel message. Historically, when God places such a burden on His people, revival comes. Every revival in history had a similar pattern of growth. They were birthed through prayer and sustained through true Gospel preaching. In spite of all that’s happening in our world today I believe we are on the verge of the greatest hour of visitation we have ever experienced, but we need to get back to our roots.
When people hear a minister say, Christianity needs to return to its roots,
we often think of our Messianic roots. While I do believe the perception of what the Church is has been skewed by 1600 years of pagan idolatry parading as Christianity, the primary concern of this book is not ecclesiastical expression. We can reorganize our services to better replicate the Jewishness of Christ, but that is not the key to revival. If we are going to see America saved from its impending judgement it will be by lifting Jesus up from the earth so that all people can be drawn to Him.
Please read this book with the understanding that I am an evangelist and not an apologist. This book is not a biography of ancient evidences trying to prove to you there is a God. Rather, having encountered His love first hand,I wrote this book to simply outline the fundamental Gospel message with the hope God will open your heart as you read and you will believe unto salvation. Read this book prayerfully.

9846.jpgAlex Camaerei is not only a passionate follower of Christ, but also a dear friend. I was there the night he came into the church off the street, desperately searching for answers. From that night until this day, I’ve witnessed a radical transformation that can only be described as the transformative miracle-working power of the Holy Ghost. He is passionate about seeing people come to and experience the finished work of the cross. Not only is he evangelistic in nature, but God is raising him up to be a strong and sound prophetic voice to
