      Anissa Luke stepped out onto the wrap around porch of her cabin and looked at the beautiful painting that Mother Nature provided.  Snow swept mountain peaks loomed above the deep valley where the cabin was situated, nestled by a copse of towering evergreen trees.  To the front of the cabin lay the lake, now frosted and glistening in the winter noonday sun.

      Anissa sighed and stuck her hands in her jacket pockets.  It was cold.  Almost as cold as her heart felt.  Would she ever get over Craig’s death on Christmas Eve four long years ago?  Why couldn’t she move on and forget the past?  So engrossed of memories better left in the past, Anissa didn’t hear the approach of crunching footsteps in the snow until a deep baritone voice interrupted her thoughts.

      Hello there!

      Anissa pulled herself back to the present.  Standing not more than three feet from the steps of the porch stood a man.  His face was ruggedly sculptured and she really couldn’t call him handsome.  Outdoorsy would be the proper word for him.  He was dressed in a dark green jacket, jeans, and rugged terrain boots.  Hello, she answered back; wondering where he had come from since the only other cabins located in the area were on
