About this ebook
PUTHIYAMAADHAVI is the pen name of Mallika, who began to write in 2000. She has a Post Graduate Degree from Madurai University and has also done Certificate Courses in Feminism and social Service. She lives in Mumbai. She is the Fourth Generation of Mumbai Tamil Community. Her house has become the Central place for Tamil Literarty activities in Mumbai.
Pudhiyamaadhavi worked in HSBC for 22 years and took VRS in 2004 to concentrate on her writing, reading and other social activities. She is a prolific writer and has published 15 books so far, which includes six collection of poems, four short stories collections and five non-fixtion. Her poems ans stories have received appreciation and recognition. In 2006, she won the SHIRPI AWARD for her poetry collection "NIZHALKALAI THEDI" . Her short story collection "PEN VAZHIPADU" got writer JAYANTHAN AWARD. EZHUTHTHU trust selected her collection of poems "MOUNATHTHIN PILIRAL" and publised in 2015.
Puthiyamaadhavi's stories and poems have been translated into Malayalam and German Language. She has translated collection of poems of other Indian languages into Tamil and published with title "KATHAVUKAL THIRAKKUM VANAM".

அழகான வளவளப்பான கரைகளுடன்
எனக்காக நீ எழுப்பிய
புதிய சமுத்திரம்
அலைகளோ வலைகளோ
என்னை
விலைப் பேசிவிட முடியாத
புதிய சாம்ராஜ்யம்
எப்போதும் இதமான வெளிச்சம்
சுகமான காற்றுக் குமிழிகள்
தேடி அலைய வேண்டியதில்லை
எனக்கான என் உணவை
வேண்டும் போதெல்லாம்
விதம் விதமான
சுவைகளுடன்
விருந்துகளுடன் ஆரவாரம்
பாடுகின்றேன்
கனவுகளுடன் ஆடுகின்றேன்
கண்ணாடிக் குடுவையின்
திரவங்களைப் பருகிய
போதையில்
தள்ளாடுகிறது
என் பருவ மேனி
காமம் உடைத்தப்
புதுவெள்ளமாய்
அலைகளில் கலக்கும் நதிகளை
நான் மறந்துவிடுவது
உன் சமுத்திரத்தை மட்டுமல்ல
உன்னையும் காக்கும் அறம் என நம்புகிறாய்
அதனாலேயே
உன் சமுத்திரத்தில்
அடிக்கடி
தண்ணீரை மாற்றுவதை மட்டும்
நீ மறப்பதே இல்லை.
கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாய்
பழையக் கடல், நதி
பவளப்பாறை
சுறாவின் வேட்டை சுனாமி
எல்லாமே
உன் புதுவெள்ளத்தில் கரைந்து
காணாமல் போய்விடுகின்றன
ஆனால்
மழைத்துளிகள்
