Brandon Sugar

I am a decorated Army Combat Veteran who has served in Afghanistan and Iraq and I deal with PTSD daily. I was born and mostly raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Additionally, I  have lived in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, Fl, North Carolina, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I am a Christian who loves finding the best in people and I use that love to create positive and uplifting artwork. In the army, my military occupation was a telecommunications specialist and always enjoyed the various ways to help people connect and communicate.

Direction Through Connection - Brandon Sugar

    The VOID

It can consume and divide you

At times it can drive you

    The despair and disgrace

    The void takes its place

    It feeds, feeds and feeds

    It grows rampant like weeds

But if you don’t fight it

You’ll end up just like it

    This empty dark place

    This hole in your space

    Will it ever go?

    You may never know

    The lessons to learn

    For knowledge you yearn

How to beat it you ask

    This is quite a task

    Don’t let a moment contrast

Or let life move to fast

    The void is ever near

To the moments you hold dear

    Fight for your life

    Or end up in strife

It cares not for your tears

And it feeds on your fears

    Will it ever reside?

    That’s for you to decide

    Emerged

The time has come I have arrived

    Because I have now emerged

    Through darkness greatness has derived

My low times have now been purged

You don’t want to participate in the glory

Then you’re not in the success

    You’re in the success story

Now please fade away, recluse, and recess

    I’m going to shine bright

And let the whole world see

All the awesome in my life

    Come now and join me!

Lift your arms, raise your glass

    Tonight we celebrate

All the bad times have passed

    And now
