About this ebook
The Starting Collections is home to two compelling flash fiction stories and a single short story that takes place in a fantastical world.
"Roadkill" is the tragic tale of a boy who goes a little too far to prove his worth, and another who goes too far to show him he’s not worth much.
In "Like It Never Happened," Peter Lindbergh discovers something truly amazing in a deep marine discovery. But, when he attempts to report his discovery, he learns that there are certain things that aren’t meant to be discovered, and people who will keep him from talking about it.
The descendants of a colonized planet live in fear of a menacing lake to the north on an alien planet. "The Way Across Black Valley Lake" is the story of a brave colonist, Vicker, who embarks across the lake to discover what happened to the first settlers, and what lies beyond.
