A beautiful and haunting play. Three great roles for older actors. It has an interest point of view not ever explored, really.

Lucy Kirkwood is a playwright who creates work that has characters and situations that feel real. This can be classified as a dystopian play, yet something like this has and can happen in the near future. The Children is a wonderful show that makes social commentary about the environment, ageism, women's roles in a more modern-day society, and many more. I liked the intense moments and really loved the moments that she had sprinkled throughout that may not have been with much dialogue (Like the yoga and the bells!) that sparked my imagination asking why this might be happening during that specific moment. The Mosquitoes was the first thing by Kirkwood that I have experienced and this is my second play that I've read by her. So far, I have seen a scientific element in her work with is very unique. If you read The Children I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)
