About this ebook

Behind the calm exterior of the elite barristers' chambers at 5 Caper Court rumour and uncertainty are rife. Cameron Renshaw, head of chambers, is dying; there's a move afoot to leave the chambers' comfortable, familiar premises in Middle Temple for Lincoln's Inn; and Leo Davies, the QC with the charmed but amoral life, is about to find his dubious past catching up with him. His ex-wife is ready to do anything to protect her son from his father, Sarah Coleman, who knows more of Leo's secrets than anyone, is now a pupil at 5 Caper Court, and Leo has unwisely compromised himself with a decadent and unreliable new young lover, Joshua.

This is the fourth in a series of books set in the fictional Caper Court barristers chambers. When published in the 1990s, these books were frequently described as "racy". Whilst that term now seems somewhat dated, these books have aged somewhat better. They offer a light entertaining read. The love lives of the barristers and those around them feature far more prominently than any of the cases they are working on. There is no need to have read the earlier books in the series in order to enjoy this one, though it might be appreciated more by those who have done so.

Story about a group of lawyers in a barristers chambers. Interesting but a bit scattered.
