I Know What You Did
I was already awake when the call came yet again. My hands shook as I set down my coffee, picking up my cell phone.
I know what you did,
followed by the click of the person on the other end hanging up.
The only person there that night with me was now dead, how could anyone know. Granted, there wasn’t much anyone could do about it, but the fact someone actually knew frightened me to the core.
Two months ago, my world was normal. I had a job, I had friends, I was happy. Then I met him.
He was handsome, but not like a supermodel. It was more like he knew he was good looking, and the confidence in that drew you in even more. He had a wicked sense of humor, as I found out on our first date. He made me laugh, something nobody else had done in such a long time. I was enchanted, which was a big mistake on my end.
We went out a few times, honestly I lost count after a while, we were together that much. I couldn’t help it, I needed to be around him, his energy. His life, I was so hungry for it, I mean it, I couldn’t help myself.
The biggest mistake was when he kissed me. I can eat normal food, something I rather enjoy actually, but I needed more. I never forget. Contrary to the stories that are told, I remember every one of them. They mean more to me than just a meal, more than what they give me.
The kiss though, that was what became the point of no return, for both of us. I remember how he smelled of the wine he drank and of the dinner we had eaten a few hours before. He was sweet,
