About this ebook
Although many books exist detailing the technical aspects of the business valuation process, most business owners don’t have the time or the desire to understand every diminutive detail that goes into completing a business valuation. A Business Owner’s Guide to Business Valuation is an invaluable tool for business owners to gain a general understanding of the valuation process. As a business owner, you understand how important it is to make decisions based on accurate information and for a variety of reasons, too many owners rely on valuation information provided by people who don’t know the process of assigning value to a business. Having a general understanding of how valuations work and the specifics of your company provides you with a unique insight that allows you not only to work from a reasonable starting point, but also to focus on the factors that ultimately cause the value of your business to grow.
This guide provides you with an overview of the valuation process as well as the valuation industry so that you can make a sound choice in your selection of a valuation professional and know what to expect from them. After reading this, you should know what to expect from your valuation professional and understand the impact of the assumptions they are making on your business. These assumptions are the basis for the valuation of your business, so making them as precise as possible is vital to determining an accurate value.
