    Brief History

San Francisco was originally a Spanish city that was under the colony of the United States in the year 1846. In 1848, invading armies discovered gold in its premise and this has led to Gold Rush – the birth of San Francisco and a powerful metropolis.

The population by that time was only 400 and has blown to almost 30,000 by the end of 1849. A decade after, the population reached almost 60,000. Another decade has gone by and San Francisco’s first mint was constructed and ever filled with activities during the period of opulence.

The city was crashed by a major earthquake in 1906 and followed by a fire, affecting a massive part of the city. It was rebuilt and restored to its glory. That’s why the San Francisco flag comes with a rising phoenix to signify this achievement.

World War II came and Pearl Harbor has been the talk of the town. Eventually, Cold War begins which marks the end of the war. There come the writers and poets in the 1950’s like Mark Twain that boosts counterculture atmosphere in the city.

At present, the city is more advanced and more able to respond to challenges. Millions are residing in the city and is continually growing, fighting and rising.
