Brief History
The city as discovered in 1524 by an Italian Giovanni da Verrazano and this was followed by settlements in 1624. During the same year, many families were sent to the city to work and line in a small settlement they named Nutten Island or Governor’s Island at present times. It has served as a trading center of the Dutch since then and was called New Amsterdam. The settlement and the Larger Manhattan area where bought by Minuit in 1626 in exchange of farming tools. In 1664, it was called New York as the British take over.
In 1760, the city beat Boston as the second biggest city and after 5 decades, its population boosts and it transformed the city the largest in the Western part of the world. After the declaration of independence, the city was declared as the US capital and become the most significant seaports in the 1800’s. This and more has lead to the extensive growth of America.
In the 1900’s, NYC has served as a major destination for immigrants from all over the world wanting citizenship. This has lead to the city’s
