About this ebook

Trained as an elite warrior from childhood, the elven crown prince Flintathriël fights to bring a stop to a war that began before he was born. With the aid of his betrothed Sairalindë, a skilled mage and dragon rider in her own right, they must find the Book of Souls – an ancient and mysterious tome rumored to have belonged to the god Hath’Raal.

When the missing book turns up in the hands of Mnuvae, the bastard child of the dead king, Flintathriël finds himself fighting to not only save his people from this new threat but also trying to keep Sairalindë safe when Mnuvae takes over the dragons in her attempt to win back the kingdom she believes is rightfully hers.

The love Flintathriël and Sairalindë share shines pure and true, but when the smoke of the battle clears, will their hearts survive the aftermath of war or will their love become a casualty that cannot be revived?

Errin Krystal

Errin Krystal is a Wayward Daughter, Whovian, and all-around fan-girl who has an unhealthy attachment to fictional characters (including her own). She’s way too invested in the love lives of said fictional characters and prone to long rants about their romances, be they in TV, books or video games. She’s a mum to two beautiful children, happily married, and a chef. She and her family live in regional Victoria, Australia. Errin loves storytelling, especially when it involves romance, swoon-worthy heroes, and feisty heroines; magic, adventure, dragons, and elves; mages and warriors, troubled princes, and beautiful princesses. Her first book, The Last Dragon Rider, was published in August 2017. Falling Down Under is her first Contemporary novel.

I loved that The Last Dragon Rider starts out as a bedtime story told by a guardian to their child. I could clearly see the scene unfurling, the child asking for a story before bedtime the weary caretaker wanting nothing more than for the child to go to bed but can’t deny their enthusiastic pleas. After figuring that it would be easier to just tell the tale, the guardian starts to tell the ballad of The Last Dragon Rider. The author’s writing was incredible. I was blown away at how quickly I was able to understand the character’s motivations. From the start, I could feel the passion between Flintathriël and Sairalindë. I enjoyed learning about their history and that their emotional connection was already solidified. It gave the story a nice romance element (and some sexy times) and left plenty of room for the other good stuff.I absolutely consider magic mages, dragons, and warriors to be the other good stuff, this story even threw in a little necromancy for added conflict. Nice! There was fast-paced action with wonderfully written battle scenes, this story just flowed. The scenes were vivid and put me on the edge of my seat hoping that everything would work out. I easily became engrossed in this story with its battles, use of magic, dragons and villains. Before I even knew it, the story was coming to an end.Such great characters, even the supporting characters are treated with care and rounded out. I especially enjoyed that the elves have their own language that is used throughout this story. No worries though, there is a glossary with the terms included with the book. By the conclusion of this story I was heart-broken but at the same time hopeful. I am dying to know what will happen next. The ballad of The Last Dragon Rider may have come to an end but story is not finished. It only marked the beginning of Flintathriël’s journey. Such a good read and I highly recommend this story to fans of fantasy! This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Author, Errin Krystal. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.
