The End Matters Most - The Journey into a Glorious Destiny - LifeBlog

    INTRODUCTION

In every movie, people don’t really care about what is happening to the actor/hero/main character, they are used to waiting eagerly to see what is going to become of him/her at the end. A good character always ends well while a villain ends disastrously. So also this life, everybody has a part to play; you know there are some roles which if some casts play, they perform better than others. In life nobody can play your role as you are going to play it. There is a purpose with which you are sent to the world; it is when you play this role perfectly well, couple with putting some things into consideration, that you end gloriously. Have you forgotten that when a movie ends, and the hero performs excellently; people do give him a round of applause? Heavens is waiting for your excellent performance on earth so you can receive its round of applause; that was the way they did it when you were saved, saying what a good decision!, if you have been saved.

No matter how, when and where you start, what matters most is the end. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. "But the God of all grace, who has called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, restore, establish, strengthen and settle you – 1 Peter 5:10.

You are destined to have a glorious end. God has called us into eternal glory, no matter what you are passing through right now. The call into that eternal glory is not based on the work of your hand; it is based on what Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary. It is not by might nor power, but by my Spirit says the Lord. Therefore, first and foremost, the ticket to enter the eternal glory is Jesus Christ. Though, it doesn’t end there, some other things still follow which we are going to fully treat in later chapters.

God’s thought towards you is of good and not of evil to give you an expected end. That expected end is a glorious end. But mind you, the devil; the one and only enemy of the saints and the children of God contends, through various means and vessels, that glorious end with you; that is why he wants to keep you a perpetual sinner without repentance, but glory be to the name of the Lord who knows this, that is why His thought towards you is of good always, even, when you are still in sins, hear Him in  Jeremiah 18:8, "if that nation, against whom I have spoken, turn from their evil, I will change from the evil that I thought to do unto them." If you only turn from that evil way (Jeremiah 18:11), His thought towards you is of good.

The thief (devil) comes not but to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.John 10:10.

You are destined to have a glorious end!

    Chapter One

    FOUNDATION FOR GLORIOUS END

There are things that have to be in place before you can ever think of any glorious end. For any beautiful edifice to be in place, a very strong foundation has to be in place. Foundation is the beginning of every beautiful and attractive building that is going to exist tomorrow. If the foundation be destroyed, there is nothing the righteous can do. A life without proper beginning will not have a glorious end. Below are some of the required foundations to be in place before we can talk of glorious end in the Lord.

    Decide Who to Follow

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the days of the Lord is near in the valley of decision – Joel 3:14.

Many people are in the valley of decision, they don’t know what to do; they don’t know the next step to take, every decision seems disastrous; yet they need to take a decision. The present situation they are battling with has blindfolded them that they don’t know the next step to take. If you speak of the Lord Jesus in their presence, they take it for non-sense. It has turned foolishness in their hearing. What a pathetic situation!

That was the situation in Samaria, under King Jehoram of Israel; she was besieged by the Syrian (then Aramean) – under King Ben-hadad – and the whole nation was engulfed by famine. No food in the whole nation to the extent that people were eaten human beings; now what do you want to say about animals, larger percentage had gone, it was only the rich that will still have some. There was also no way to move out of the nation to get food; the enemies are all around the territory. This army of Syria should be wicked! Didn’t Elisha heal their captain, Naaman from leprosy? Well may be they are heeding to the king’s order.

Then, there were these four lepers at the gate, they said; if we stay here, we shall die; if we go inside, we shall die; but if we move outside the gate, we shall either die or live. Now, out of the three options, they have to choose one, and it is clear that the last option is the best. Therefore, I’m telling you; out of every despair, problem or challenge; there is still the best decision to be taken. They took the decision, they moved out and alas! God was there before them (2 Kings 7:3-8).

On Mount Carmel, Elijah asked the people of Israel, "How long do you halt between two options?" The situation seems bleak and they were perplexed not knowing what to do. Yet, they still need to decide. But when the Lord showed up, they took the right decision. Though, every decision had death attached at first. If you can think and listen to God, no matter how terrible the condition is, you will take a correct decision and not die but live. You can’t dwell at the gate of decision, you have to move out, you have a limited time to be there, and it is your decision that will point to the direction to go.

It is a correct decision that the three mighty men of David took, when they broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out the Well of Bethlehem, that was at the gate for David, the king (2 Samuel 23:16). If they stayed there, may be the Philistines would have met them there and had them killed. Wrong decision kills. They went in boldness, God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy1:7).

Once again, you have a limited time where you are right now. How long....; ....for the day of the Lord is near. These two phrases depict limited time. You have to decide to leave the valley and move to the mountain top. If the four lepers didn’t take the decision, they would have died there; move to where opportunity is or better still where opportunity would be. It is not really hunger, unemployment, death, sickness or disaster that kills; it is wrong decision, it only uses one of the stated factors. For instance, when God sent Elijah to Hezekiah – the king –
