About this ebook
OSIRIS is the 16,000 line epic journey of the sacred Ankh on its heroic wanderings through the cosmos on a sacred quest for the one who would summon awake the cosmic Ka, the mystic soul of the great creative universe. Journeying from the creation of the world the sacred Ankh reaches the heart the mythic coming of Osiris lord of the river Nile, dramatizes lord Osiris’ rending agon, his death and the dolorous lament by his wife Isis of the sorrows and by her potent power of the mystic word summons the soul of slain Osiris to the resurrection amidst universal rejoicing. The journey of the sacred Ankh tracks the lyrical joy of Isis at the coming of Osiris of the Nile, her reluctant parting from Osiris when the lord of life must carry the flame of wisdom gifted by the gods to all humankind, queen Isis’ foreboding welcome of the lord Osiris returned from his world-wide quest, queen Isis’ dolorous lament for slain Osiris her mystic summoning of the soul of slain Osiris descended unto the dread realms of fearsome Duat of the dead to Queen Isis’ triumphant mystic song of the return of Osiris reborn. OSIRIS is the dolorous lament for slain Osiris in the journey of the Ankh. OSIRIS is also the chant-song of affirmation at the death-rebirth of eternal Osiris lord of dead, lord of life. The gnosis-like knowledge which the Ankh carries from the beginning of time, the creation of the world, the coming of Osiris lord of life, the dolorous death-agon of betrayed Osiris, the return of Osiris reborn and the universal rejoicing of all the gods in their gratitude to queen Isis of the mystic word potent enough to summon the death from the abyss of dread Duat – this is heart of the meaning of the sacred Ankh on the sweeping epic of this vast cosmic journey.
OSIRIS is an archetypal journey of deepest sorrow and soaring affirmation and universal rejoicing. The journey of the Ankh throughout time from the very beginnings at the creation of the world to the coming of the gods and the triumph of Osiris over death and the splendor of queen Isis’ song of joy at the resurrection of her slain lord. It is a journey deepest despair and soaring affirmation, a song of the deepest most broken dread in Queen Isis’ dolorous lament to the splendor of the great goddess’ potent words, the mystic awe-inspiring words summoning, awakening slain Osiris’ resurrection.
In the mythic journey of the Ankh through the reign of every pharaoh on its universal quest for its lost mystic self, the poem OSIRIS reenacts the lost mystic secret which was always veiled at the core of the reign of each of the pharaohs. OSIRIS is the Ankh dramatically summoning to life the sacred hieroglyphs, the Ankh chronicling the soaring of the columns, the quick-stepping battle array of the armies of pharaoh, the eye-witnessing of the rising of the monumental pyramids, the epic of world-conquest and war to the chanting of the solemn rites of the inner journey mirrored in the coffin scrolls and wall carvings of that funerary drama of the soul on its cosmic journey which punctuate the poem throughout the soaring quest of the Ankh in these lines.

As a poet, playwright, essayist and novelist my writing dramatizes individuals confronting the fearsome might of the almighty African state in 3rd Millennium Africa. This is the fearful drama of lives violently torn apart on the urban African landscape – lives caught at the crossroads of modern Africa. I write on the tragic drama of lives cast adrift by the death of an anchoring ancient tradition killed by the triumphant march of the fearsome African state. AFRAHA https://books2read.com/u/mdWjZl is the drama of lives dominated by the tragic irony that the almighty African state, the new secular god welcomed with so much hope and fanfare at independence in the last millennium, is now this fearsome monster devouring all: the “enemies of the state.” As the ironic “withering of the state” gathers pace, uprooted Africans are rushing back into the past to resurrect a monstrous version of a long rejected tradition – shattering lives outcast from tradition and targeted as “enemies” by a vengeful remorseless African state unrestrained neither by tradition (discredited) nor by constitutional law (elitist, effete, ineffectual against the state). My play TOUSSAINT L’OUVERTURE https://books2read.com/u/bpjyrX was the 1st Prize Award winner of the DAILY NATION NEWSPAPER 1995 playwriting competition. My plays have been shortlisted on BBC African Performance and BBC International Playwriting Competition. OSIRIS OF THE SLUMS - submitted to the BBC International Playwrights Competition was a finalist for the 1999 BBC International Competition. Since my play TOUSSAINT L’OUVERTURE https://books2read.com/u/bpjyrX won the 1st Prize Award in the DAILY NATION NEWSPAPER playwriting competition I have continued to write poems, plays and novels thanks to the favour of the Muse herself, IMANNA of Splendour. I thank flame-haired Imanna Goddess for her kindnness.

Osiris fortunate one: your good fortune provokes the jealousy of an angry god
Osiris’ fortune has woken the evil of war in the heart of evil red haired Setekh
There is war in Ka Ptah; a god rivals Osiris for the sceptre of rule
In this war of brother against brother for the feared Uraeus Hwt-Ka-Ptah bleeds
Sacred land, Ka Ptah bleeds in the clash of kin against kin, rival brother against brother for the feared Uraeus
Brother avows undying hate against brother in this bloody war for Ptah’s sceptre, the crowning thyrsus of sacred Ka Ptah
––––––––
Primal hate rules the heart of brother raging against brother jealous for the blessed Ankh
Of the gods warring Hwt-Ka-Ptah wars against Hwt-Ka-Ptah for the Ankh of rule
The sacred Ankh of Ptah - for to Hwt-Ka-Ptah the Ankh of rule is the world branching tree of life
Hwt-Ka-Ptah land of war – that flash blue lightning on the field of battle is pharaoh
Hwt-Ka-Ptah of the blue helmet of war: the invincible blade of pharaoh scything his enemies
Hwt-Ka-Ptah of Osiris against the evil typhonian animal Setekh of treacherous and loathly appetites
Hwt-Ka-Ptah of brother contending against brother for the sceptre of rule
War roars mighty in the blood of this land mighty like the mighty Nile thundering out of the mountains to the sea
Osiris against red-haired Setekh, brother against brother
Hwt-Ka-Ptah rages in the roaring heart of this war of brother against brother
Osiris of the Nile against fiery Setekh caught in the knot of blood hate
Brother twinned to hated brother in the womb of fratricidal blood hate
Brothers jointed by hate, hate from beyond the womb, tearing apart this land, this torn blood-soaked Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Osiris against dragon Setekh, blood against blood, Hwt-Ka-Ptah wars against herself
In this the bitterest of wars in the anger of brother against blood brother tearing the heart out of Hwt-Ka-Ptah

Osiris against dragon Setekh for the sceptre of rule, brother against brother
Hwt-Ka-Ptah is a bloody land held together by blood hatred, torn apart by the tie of blood
––––––––
Osiris against Setekh dragon, war’s bloody sceptre is the crown of this war
Brother against rival brother, rejecting his loyal oath to the sceptre of rule angry
Setekh angrily launches a rival claim against Osiris for the sceptre of Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Thus out in the light of day the vile thing of horror against divine Ma’at is spoken
The deed unspeakable, naked in the light of day stands the evil truth
Of brother rivalling brother for the luck of Ma’at divine order
Ma’at divine lotus, Ma'at sacred flame, Ma'at seed of the life of Ka Ptah, Ma’at lotus sceptre
Ma’at: rite bestowable upon the one right chosen by immortal lot
Ma’at is become this fierce sword of bloody contention tearing Ka Ptah apart
––––––––
Ma'at is the crown of contention in the rivalry of brother against brother, the angry one against his brother, Osiris
The sceptre of Hwt-Ka-Ptah is the curse of this poisonous war of brother against rival brother
Now Ka Ptah knows the hidden face of Ma’at gentle and divine, Ma’at sceptre of rule
Osiris against Set dragon-head, Osiris against fork-tailed Setekh: their hate has bloodied Ma’at
The hate setting bother against rival brother has defiled Ma’at
Hwt-Ka-Ptah’s unblemished sceptre of rule is become bloody
Hwt-Ka-Ptah’s sacred sceptre is become the sword bloody: brother against brother
Ma’at stands bloodied between these two - the fierce burning fiery sceptre of Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Ma’at gentle flower of the immortal dance of the waves, Ma’at of gentle harmony
––––––––
Ma’at is become the fierce burning sceptre of divisive war for which divided Ka Ptah contends
For who takes the sceptre of Ka Ptah rules Ka Ptah - for the gentle rule of Ma’at is gone
Now the leader that hungers for Ma’at sceptre divine is not the priest of the Nile
The angry new owner of the sceptre of Ka Ptah is the curse of the land
The new Pharaoh is become the angry lord master scourging Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Pharaoh is now the death of the children of Ka Ptah
Who seeks the sacred lotus seeks not to shield fragile divine Ma’at with his own life
The seeker of Ka Ptah’s sceptre seeks the sceptre of blood
The angry crowned one seeks not Ma’at
––––––––
The lord Pharaoh seeks not the pure flower that adorns the altar of the gods
The new Pharaoh does not present the sacred sceptre at the daily rite of the awakening
The crowned head wields but the scourge that chastises Ma’at
The great immortal wields the fiery scourge that strips Hwt-Ka-Ptah of all life
Osiris against angry Setekh red haired and hungry, rival brother against rightful heir contend for the sacred fire of Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Brother against brother contend for the sceptre, contend for Hwt-Ka-Ptah
The rival brother contends against Osiris who carried the sacred fire to Hwt-Ka-Ptah and banished darkness from the land
The evil one contends against Osiris who released the Ka Ptah from bondage to the dark gods
Evil Set rivals Osiris who unchained the Ka Ptah
Set hungers to bend Hwt-Ka-Ptah to his will
Set hungers to chain back the sacred land back into bondage
Set longs to enslave Hwt-Ka-Ptah that once was chained to the dark rites of blood for the gods of terror and the annual altar of blood
Set rivals Osiris who lifted the soul of the land up away from the dark gaze of earth heavenward to contemplate the starry heavens
Set and Osiris: ancient is the rivalry between these two, primal the hatred
The evil dragon sets his heart against Osiris of the sacred fire
Osiris of the Nile, the Nile of life, the life of the rising tide, the tide of life, the life of Ka Ptah
Osiris of the river of life undying that dies to rise reborn, Osiris of the eternal rebirth, the resurrection of the Nile
Osiris of the green leaf, of the sheaf of harvest grain, of the dance of the harvest home
––––––––
Osiris of the Nile rising, Osiris of the Nile reborn, Osiris death conquered, Osiris of death defeated
Osiris who stands against the brother of death - rival Setekh, rival brother and son of death
Osiris carries forth the torch of life to Ka Ptah
The rival brother hates the sacred fire of life, fights hard against the fire bringer, against Osiris torch of life
Osiris’ brother Set condemns Osiris for carrying the sacred fire to the barbarian nations
Setekh abhors Osiris’ oath before the gods, the oath that carries forth the flame to all Hwt-Ka-Ptah
Set contends that Lord Osiris has carried the sacred fire beyond Hwt-Ka-Ptah unlawfully
The sceptre of Hwt-Ka-Ptah has journeyed outgoing to Ka Ptah
Who can see the return whence returns the sacred fire to Hwt-Ka-Ptah?
––––––––
Hwt-Ka-Ptah’s sacred fire is outgoing, the fire will return
The sacred flame Hwt-Ka-Ptah goes out to the world carrying life the Ankh of living to Ka Ptah
The sacred fire must annually go out to Ka Ptah of the Nile - thus Osiris oathed himself to Queen Isis
Thus Osiris set forth for the world journey, to carry the sacred fire to the lost and the benighted
Osiris of the outgoing to return - the soul of the sacred fire seeking the way of the return is the way of the world journeyer
Osiris of the journey of the sacred fire, Osiris of the world burden
Thus the crowning glory of Osiris by divine lot chosen guardian of the sacred fire
The crowning of Osiris chosen carrier of the sacred flame to Ka Ptah
This be the seed of the jealousy that has planted this hatred undying in the heart of the dragon
––––––––
The crowning of Osiris is the implacable hatred between brother and brother splitting the land in this war of self against self
This the hate of red haired dragon Setekh against Osiris that runs bloody and as rich as the Nile roaring with the rich sap of the gods
The fiery dragon wars against Osiris, the Nile that at the annual return, is ever received with universal rejoicing
The raging dragon wars against Osiris
The dragon rages against Osiris of the hidden names
Setekh wars against Osiris of the names spoken at the holy recitation of the temple ritual - and then only by the pure, the chaste
Set wars against Osiris who owns the book of life
Setekh battles Osiris owner of the sacred names privileged to the virtuous few
Osiris lord of the book of life, the book of the dead
––––––––
Osiris who is the book and the sanctuary of the book
Osiris owns the divine order, Osiris ruler and soul of the cosmic order
Osiris who owns the sacred fire, Osiris lord of the ritual

46
Osiris who unchained Ka Ptah from the curse of the blood victims
Osiris who daily opens the shrine
Osiris who goes froth in the sacred robes of the ritual
Osiris offer and giver of the food and drink of life
Osiris lord of the rule, owner of the crook of kingship
Osiris owner of the shepherd’s sceptre of wise rule and good fortune
Osiris is flower and godhead of earth’s creation
Osiris heir to the kingship of Atum, son of the sun god Ra
Osiris is the centre of our world, Osiris who recalls the seedtime
––––––––
47
Even in the sceptre of the gods that elected him keeper and protector
Osiris knows the seed planted
Osiris knows the discord in the land when at the seeding the fate sowed the seed fire of life
Osiris knows the seed planted at the unfolding of the great lotus flower
Osiris knows the seed planted at the cosmos aborning
Osiris knows the seed planted at the sowing of the seed fire
Osiris knows the seed planted when life sowed the cosmic tide with the sown seed of blood hatred
Osiris knows the seed planted when the stardust that sowed life
Sowed also the seed of blood
––––––––
48
Osiris knows that at the heart of the seed planted
Sown also was the seed of strife: brother against brother
Osiris knows the seed planted the fiery hate of kin against kin sowed
At the mystic seeding Nu sundered herself to be the seed and the infolding of the seed
She is the enigma of birth travail: mother Nu is she, O ancient mother
May I never fail to first speak your name?
May I always call the name of Nu?
I call the name of mother Nu; I speak not the name of another for Nu is first mother of the gods
Nu mother of all: my tongue speaks your praises first; I speak of mother Nu with joy
––––––––
49
Nu of the mother sea, Nu mother of plenty, Nu that is the ocean bed of life
May I always first speak the holy names of holy mother Nu?
For who will speak of these deeds of ancient glory and fail to speak of the mother?
Who will speak of the valour of the gods and these their deeds without fist invoking the holy names of Nu mother of the gods?
Who will speak of these ancient hatreds without speaking of the name of Nu and the deeds of horror against her?
Who speaks of sorrow having not named mother Nu’s ancient sorrow?
Nu ebbs and flows as the thundering primal tides war in the being of the cosmic ocean stream
Nu streams as the thundering primal tides surge and die in the war of the world egg self creating Nile self dying
Nu surges as mighty as the primal tides
––––––––
50
Nu surges as the cosmic blood-sap surges rages in this the bloodlust, the dance of creation surging
Nu rages as the raging tides of the mother ocean stream rage in the fever-dance of parturition
Nu cracks as the world egg cracks - the tides gush forth the creative blood
Nu thunders as the thundering world egg shivers trancelike in the death-dance of creation
Nu unfurls the shivering holy petals of the world flower
Nu is the sinewy world currents of the ocean sea aflame in grip of the thundering world creative dance
Nu hostile one, Nu spirit self exiled against herself
The raging stardust that seeds the primal ocean sea with life is the raging tide of the primal days
Mother Nu’s raging primal birth clash echoes to the mother clash of many to come
51
Nu battles the birthing that is her destiny: primal self against raging primal self
Nu rages against her being: hostile tide against the hostile primal self
Nu is splitting in the chaos of the primordial world egg
Nu is birthing the cosmos in this primal war of spirit against her own self in a rage that prefigures the wars of heaven, the chaos to come
The turmoil of Nu World-spirit is the cosmic thunderbolt that sows the germ of spirit in the vast tides
The churning world spirit is as angry as the sea of Nu’s self hate and hostile self hunger
The chaos of Nu seed the World egg
The germ of the World spirit tears apart sunders the mother in the blood spattered birthing of the World soul
Nu unfolds in the unfolding of the petals of the giant world lotus
––––––––
52
Nu wakens to the creative urge: the world encircling petals unfurl
Out upon the shivering petals out steps the primal daemon, son of Nu
Nu is the unfolding of the cosmic lotus dancing herself upon the hostile waves
Of the self creative being of time mother Nu is the fragile shivering birth way
Nu is the dance of the shivering world creative world flower
Nu is the dance of the immortal raging on the thundering waves
Nu the icy wastes of the primal ocean stream wakens
Nu tides hostile raging against hostile self
Nu of the vast starry aeons raging ever hostile
––––––––
53
For Nu is the vast hostile ocean stream silent, brooding upon the creation
For Nu mother life is Nu life denier
In the splendour of her rending loneliness Nu is the awakening of the hostile spirit
Nu wakens hostile against her outspreading immeasurable tide
For Nu is the feared mother that hates her own blood: this nameless daemon beast aborning
Self tormentedly Nu joyfully suffers the iron blood of her rending birth pangs
Nu suffers her being as the world mother bitter and self hating
Joyous in this her terrible travail is Nu
For Nu comes the terribilas of the birthing of the dread being of the awakening
––––––––
54
The mother of prophecy foretells of the deeds of the monster horror now aborning
The one who would repay her torment a thousand, ten thousand, thousand folds
Nay - in the aeons to come Nu prophesies of her portion in the terrors to come, in the future
Of the blood, the horrors that Nu prophesies the one birthing would inflict upon her creation
The mother of all prophesies of deeds to outrun her vast hungers
Prophesies of deeds to waken new hungers and of her fill of these deeds of the one abirthing
Awaiting the ages to come, awaiting to afflict the ages vast, vast upon the waves, ages vast to come
The mother reads the bones of the unborn future, of the sorrows of the vast tides of time yet unborn
Caught in the feared trance of creation is Nu the one mother
––––––––
55
As in a cosmic mist Nu sees the tormented ages
Mother Nu surveys the deeds of sorrows to come
Nu sees deep into the grains of deeds awaiting birth
Out of the mists of the time of Nu first mother
Out of the grainy shadows of time Nu sees the fated deeds of the unborn one
Nu sees deeds yet unborn, deeds folded yet in the lap of the tides
Nu the one mother prophesies of the sorrows the unborn one would afflict upon Nu in her torments to come
Nu gazes deep into her broken mother sorrows
Nu gazes deep at her seed unborn, seed yet folded in the mists of time
––––––––
56
Nu the one mother quails in terror of her creation yet unborn
Mother Nu shakes at the vision of the unhatched seeding of the time to come
Nu mother of the chaos journeys the inner heavens of her vast spirit
Nu turns away towards the bloody path of the mother of the creation ... ...
Out of ancient time the voice of the awakening reaches across the hostile tides of Nu primal ocean-stream,
The call to the awakening travels the vast reaches of hostile Nu
At the awakening of the primal darkness the voice of the call searches deep
The call seeks birth out the vast folds of mother Nu
The call gyres with the turning tides of deep mother Nu
––––––––
57
The goes searching deep the tides of Nu seeking the sleeper
The seeking voice sows the seed fire of the ancient call upon the vast turning, hostile tides of Nu
Thus the stardust of life is seeding a hostile cosmos
The angry tide of Nu rages, angry against herself she rages the primal ocean stream
Angry is the hostile navel tide of mother Nu
For Nu is the ancestral ocean sea: vast, raging
Hostile against her dark brooding self, unsure whence comes the call -
From the vast silence of the starry heavens
Or from within her own brooding all-devouring oceans cavernous
––––––––
58
Primal Nu beats her ocean-vast body mass against the raging glaury tides
As the mother beats her being against the ancient sea her own soul
Of mother Nu the sleeper wakes lost in the hostile surging flood
Nu: inert fearful waste of roiling primeval waters, dead to time, formless, heartless
Nu: dark, lacking the beating pulse of spirit, this is Nu denier of the creation
This is Nu enemy of all that is living, aspiring to life
Nu, evil hater of divine order
This is the face of Nu, Nu that hates the life - thus is Nu the formless
Vast is her waste of inert waters, dead to time, cruel and hungry without knowledge it hungers, without knowledge for that which Nu hungers:
––––––––
59
Thus is Nu the formless, Nu that is rich with that which is not;
Thus is soulless Nu that repels and devours all with her vast, bleak hunger
Nu is the power that devours all being upon itself; Nu is the power of naked lack
Nu is the place of no rest; place before, beyond the soul; on Nu the soul is not
Were the journeying soul to reach Nu the soul would flee in terror as from a thing alien and hostile
Nu without spirit, blind Nu that is the death of spirit
Nu devourer of the pulse of life that beats
In the still breathing air, the track and spoor that whispers of life that once was
Life that once passed here, dwelled here, walked here: Nu eats the very track of life in the whispering air,
––––––––
60
Nu is the feared one, the mother of fear, the gate through which all that lives would find passage into Nu, blind oblivion
Nu ruled all - if it be just and right to call the dark chaos before rule, rule
From the beginning Nu was hostile to rule, order, justice, truth, life:
Nu enemy of Ma’at, Ma’at the realization, the glory of all life,
For Ma’at is the essence of all that is orderly, just and true, of life and of death
As from the beginning, death is of the order of Ma’at, so is life of the order of immemorial Ma’at
But where Nu is there is no Ma’at, for Nu is the mortal enemy of Ma’at, that which is orderly, just and of the truth
The sleeper wakens in dread of the mother tide, wakens in fear of his knowing
61
Wakens dreading the mother being, dread anxious to escape the hunger, the mother rage of the howling tides
Out of the chaos beginnings; flaming the sacred fire fights for birth out of the tidal chaos of Nu
Universal the flame of Nu reaches out of the primal chasm
The flame rages to flee, to escape the chaos of the mother tide
The folds of the creation unfurl as the mother lotus rich, life giving beholds her work of creation
Out of the unfurling petals out steps the demiurge, joy of the mother; becalmed and fleshy - the petalled mother Nu
Nu spreads out raging, a primal void hungering to gorge upon the infant godhead birthing
Out of the ravine chaos of Nu the call of this mother love comes
Strange love that howls cold hungering to drown the god aborning back into the hostile life hating primal tide
62
Nu is the outspreading cosmic tide hungering deeply to fold back the sacred flame back into the ebb tides of the hostile, the elemental mother love -
Nu, strange mother love that hungers deep hungering to ravage her godhead son aborning
Nu is the primal mother hunger raging in search of the way back to the place of origins,
Nu is mother love turned hostile, a poisonous tide beating life back to the dread reaches of the river,
Nu is the mother fiendish in her anger at this child-thing mothered out of her torn guts,
Maddened by the pain Nu rages at her lapse into mother love
Turns against this her inauspicious progeny
Rallies her tiring energies vast, seeks to deny life to the thing aborning, beating
Back at the life being born now, Nu seeks to deny the sun to the being
––––––––
63
Now wrestling with mortality through the dark by ways of the feared labyrinth
Nu beats at her daemon-child, with evil intent she seeks to beat back the surge
Of life at the gate back through the ages of terror and blindness back to the descent
Nu beat at the daemon child seeking to beat the maelstrom back against the way of the return
Broken, shattered birthing in the maelstrom of the mother trauma the godhead seeks the mother gate
Broken in the maelstrom the godhead seeks blind battling for the hostile-hoped for mother gate
Blind exhausted in the millrace the godhead battles the terror and the pain
The sacred flame of the infant godhead gathers its shattered lost fragments for the one last attempt at the journey perilous
The new god revives its broken self for the ascent back to the source
––––––––
64
The broken god-being looks to the feared return, the journey back to the place of origins there to gather the shattered fragments into a new godhead, a new birth
The flame reaches one last time out of the god being for the mother her superabundant self and love
The infant looks at the one place where love one was but mother love has become a primal hate
Mother hate has overtaken the once superabundant mother love
Now mother hate the wise mother’s once bountiful love turned hate reaches out; terribly withering all that now she touches
Nu’s creation recoils in horror at the touch of the one mother
Nu, terror of the creation; Nu death dealing hater of all that she had given life, given her own blood
Already Nu’s mother love is breeding in the ennui of her hatred of this new being born out of her flesh but not of her
––––––––
65
Nu first mother - Nu is the first of that accursed brood: the mother hateful
Of her creation, mother love become a repulsive hate implacable against the creation
Lost to her, lost as the lost sacred fire
The mother hunger, the lust to birth becomes that strange new mother - the life giver
Hateful to lust, to gorge upon her brood, to kill, to turn against the ancient call of mother blood, eager to destroy
Yet Nu’s blood is the first fruit of the fertile dance born immortal
Son of the creation, the demiurge steps out upon the shimmering dewy petals of the world flower
Out of the east the sacred flame rays out upon the dancing dew-bedazzled petals
Of the cosmic lotus surging like waves singing the song of the vast creative mother
––––––––
66
In joy the mother sea presents the sacred flame to the first created
The mighty sword hand of the first one reaches out, folds round the haft of the sacred flame,
Securely grasping the flaming sword latent hate long nursed from beyond birth breaks into murderous rage
Against the dancing dewy petals of the creative world flower, primal hate wakens
In the breast of the first created one against the enfolding waves of the mother sea
Grasping the flame rising out of the east wrathful flaming, the sword of rage
The first created one wakens enraged against the mother
That unholy unspeakable thing - that rage that may it waken not in the breast of the son against the mother
The young creation lashes blind angry is the blood of one the raging hostile against the mother
––––––––
67
The young being rages blind hostile intent to die young
His anger thunder and the lightning flash that tear the heavens mad
The infecting madness of mortal life is battling the call
The bold life battles the seductive embrace of inviting death
The enraged seas roll against heaven, the sky darkens and the waves buckle
Enraged at the mother of creation is the daemon awakening
Enraged lest another be born whereof whence he came
The daemon awakening in rage slashes sword-like at the dewy petals
The mother lotus is trapped screeching
––––––––
68
The mother placenta howls in the throes of a fearful death cry
The matricide is deaf against this universal howl of primal mother pain
The mother destroyer is deaf to this the first fruitless cry for mercy
The mother killer is deaf to the cry that would echo in ages to come
The universal cry for mercy dies in the inferno of poisoned thunder
Cruel lightning burn up the primal mother cry burning waves, scalding rain
The deformed beast cries out in the rage of the tide of matricide, the joy sheer of destruction
The harrowing pain of the mother sea is as aeons of sorrow, the age of terror
Death is the end of the death struggle of the doomed lotus
––––––––
69
The flower is torn scattered dying upon the poisonous waves of the poisoned mother sea
Dancing upon the dying waves raging is the deformed matricide
The matricide raises a howl of triumphant cosmic rage as the life of the wounded mother sea ebbs
Accursed demiurge: the deformed matricide struts on the waves
Triumphant, he dares the void
The accursed matricide is certain none to rival him
None ever will rise out of the bloody torn body of the mother dead
Dead is Nu the mother lotus, fecund flower of birth and rebirth, Nu is torn
Her fleshy bleeding petals scattered to earth’s four horns and beyond
––––––––
70
Nu torn apart by the enraged being impatient to escape the labyrinth of birth
Nu scattered to the four ends and beyond,
Scattered to the ends, to the world encircling mountains the sacred flower is lost, torn
Nu is a raging ocean storm of shivered bleeding fragments scattered upon the sterile dead waves
Nu’s repulsive demiurge rises out of the enfolding chaos raging against the dying mother sea
Out of the creative urge that would have peopled her earth and brought her joy, Nu’s creation is her death now
Out of joy is born universal sorrow - mother Nu’s joy becomes world rending grief
Mother Nu’s goodness trap her in the iron chains of sorrow, her spirit broken scattered, soulless, denied
The joy of the first creative one - denied the life to rejoice in the name of mother she endures the lonely sorrow
––––––––
71
Of the mother of whose destruction is the deformed monster that she had mothered in all love and singing expectation
Each torn bleeding petal of the cosmic flower dead howl for the dead lotus
Screeching, howling away as her life force bursts forth a raging tide surging, screaming for the one to avenge her
As the ichor of life bursts geyser like out of her bursting being Nu’s mother-quest to be avenged against her murderous son begins
The ocean tide of her deadly ichor geysers heavenward and blots out the sky, darkness swallows all
As Nu’s poisonous life-sap covers earth in a poisonous tide - the vengeful brooding mother sea is born
Awaiting the time, the full surge when the tide of her dying screeching ichor will be avenged in the one
To come when the tide is right; when the season to gather the shivered bits of mother Nu will come
––––––––
72
When her redeemer will gather the defiled fragments of the first mother and waken mother Nu at the avenging
Nu mother of gods and men, Nu mother of the Nile
Nu destroyed by the will to birth, the primal desire to mother being, to mother earth and all its creation
Nu scattered to the four ends, the ocean sea surging from the blood of the torn petals of Nu
Mother Nu of the primal days, mystical mother of the Ankh of the world sea
Nu is mother of the Ankh of life, mother of the anciently lost placenta of life
The lotus of the primal ocean sea is mother
Nu of the first beginnings
Nu of the first time, unknown unknowable placenta of being
––––––––
73
Nu of the veiled knowledge, Nu mother of all that is unknowable
Nu wise mother of the Gods of Hwt-Ka-Ptah, Nu mother of Atum of days
Of the world seed, the life hungering for the way of the river, for the blood of birth was the death of mother
