About this ebook

Jasara lives on the Uzuri Animal Preserve in Africa. She has the ability to talk to animals and spends her days hanging out with her animal friends on the preserve. There is plenty of fun and laughter on the Uzuri Preserve.
Because Jasara is smart and brave, she was chosen to serve Hatima, and the power of magic was bestowed upon her. Now she fights the forces of evil and helps those in need. She serves Hatima alongside a young lion named Kali, A giant lion who walks in spirit, Rissaso; and a warrior falcon named Kiburi, who receives visions of those in need of Jasara's help.
Each book starts with a message from Jasara, “You will never see a picture of me in any of my books. If you are curious about how I look, just look in a mirror. That’s right; if you have brown eyes, so do I. If your eyes are blue, mine are too. Whether you are tall, short, or of medium height; I promise that we stand shoulder to shoulder. If you wear glasses or braces, I wear them too. Whatever color of hair or skin you have, I promise that it matches mine. It doesn’t matter what we look like on the outside. It matters what is on the inside because that is where your true beauty lives. I want to share my adventures with you so you can see the power that all kids have to turn fears into strengths. How do I know that kids can conquer their fears? Because we all have a little Jasara in us!”

Karen Redmond

Karen Redmond is a professional writer who, after spending 30 years writing in mainstream America, chose to dedicate her talent to writing books for a new generation of children; in order to help them embrace and navigate the new spiritual movement that is taking place across our planet. She writes for all ages, but her Terrastar series is written to inspire the younger generations who hold the potential to change our world. “I believe that our children want to live in a kinder world, and I truly believe that they can institute all changes necessary to make that happen. I am writing books to support that vision, and provide content that will spark conversation among these beautiful souls who will one day govern our planet. My hope is that everyone who reads my books, regardless of age, will embrace the spiritual beauty from which they were each created, understand the importance of their spiritual worth, and make their own imprint on the world - regardless of how grand or intimate. I believe that even the smallest imprint contributes to a foundation for spectacular growth.”

Jasara, Magic of the Zunobe People - Karen Redmond

    A Message from Jasara

Hi. My name is Jasara, and I live in South Africa with my dad. We live on the Uzuri Animal Preserve where my dad is the Veterinarian. Everyone calls my dad Doctor Dave. He feels very close to all of the animals on the Uzuri Preserve, and he takes very good care of them.

Little does he know that I am even closer because I can talk to animals. I have been able to communicate with animals for as long as I can remember. I told my dad that I could talk to animals when I was about five years old, but he told me that it was just my imagination. Well, my imagination did not go away so I can still talk to my many friends on the Uzuri Preserve.

A lot of people wonder what kind of girl I am. I think that I am like all girls; I can be as strong and fearless as I want to be.

You will never see a picture of me in any of my books. If you are curious about how I look, just look in a mirror. That’s right; if you have brown eyes, so do I. If your eyes are blue, mine are too. Whether you are tall, short or of medium height, I promise that we stand shoulder to shoulder.

If you wear glasses or braces, I wear them too. Whatever color of hair or skin you have, I promise that it matches mine. It doesn’t matter whether you are skinny or plump; I say let’s be skinny and plump together!

It doesn’t matter what I look like on the outside, and it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside. What matters is what is on the inside, because that is where your true beauty lives.

I want to share my adventures with you so you can see the power that all kids have to turn fears into strengths. How do I know that kids can conquer their fears? Because we all have a little Jasara in us! I hope you enjoy my adventures.

    Introduction

There is a special place in South Africa named the Uzuri Animal Preserve. People believe that it is a special place because many nights a bright star appears in the sky above the preserve.

The people of Africa call this star Hatima, which means destiny. They believe that Hatima has magical powers and keeps watch over those with a special purpose in life.

Everyone in Africa makes a wish when they see Hatima in the sky. Many believe that their wishes will come true someday. The truly wise know that Hatima only grants wishes to those it watches over.

This is the story of a young girl named Jasara, who grew up on the Uzuri Animal Preserve. Jasara is home schooled, and doesn’t have many human friends, but she has a lot of friends in the Animal Kingdom. Her closest friends include a giraffe named Louise, a hippo named Emmy, and an elephant named Nana. Jasara is very happy living on the Uzuri Preserve with her father.

    The Uzuri Animal Preserve

A warm African breeze rustled the leaves of an Acacia tree, calling for Louise to come have a snack. Her long neck made it easy to snack on the tree’s high branches. Louise wrapped her tongue around a branch and snapped it off before dropping the branch on the ground. Will you take a look at my tongue? Does it look weird to you?

Well, it is really long and it is black, but that’s normal for a giraffe. So no, it doesn’t look weird to me, Jasara said.

Jasara and Louise watched their friend Emmy cooling herself in the Uzuri River. Emmy called out to her two friends, Come swim with me! The water is nice and cool!

No thanks. I am afraid that I will get stuck in the mud, Louise yelled back.

Don’t worry about it. I am not getting stuck, Emmy yelled.

You’re a hippo Emmy. You have webbed toes that help you glide through the water. I have hooves that get stuck in river mud, Louise shouted back.

That’s cool. I am going for a swim with Tabu anyway, Emmy said.

I will swim with you Emmy, came a deep voice from behind a nearby tree.

Oh, it is that annoying wildebeest again, Emmy thought.

I don’t mind if my hooves get stuck in the river mud. You are worth the risk, Harold said as he stood at the edge of the river.

    Listen Jerold, Emmy said.

Please, call me Harold, the wildebeest said.

    Why?

    Because it is my name.

Okay. Listen. Harold, I told you over and over that I am not going out with you.

And why not? Harold started to enter the water next to Emmy.

You know why. Because I already have a boyfriend, and he will be here any minute so you better vamoose! Harold snorted at Emmy’s rejection and walked away.

Tiny bubbles surfaced beside Emmy in the water. It is okay Tabu, he’s gone, Emmy said. A small turtle swam up to the surface and climbed on Emmy’s back.

Bonjour my Plump Princess. I only hide from the wildebeest because he is jealous of our love, Tabu crooned. Like I, he is bewitched by your larger than life beauty.

Oh Tabu, you say the sweetest things, Emmy whispered.

But of course! I am French! Come my Grand Goddess, let us glide through the river to a place where we can be alone. Emmy giggled as she swam down the Uzuri River with Tabu.

Wait...I am getting something on them. Louise closed her eyes. It is coming to me. Louise squinted her eyes and scrunched up her nose.

What is wrong with her? Does she have a headache? Harold asked

No. She decided that she wants to be a psychic, Jasara said.

You mean she wants to be crazy?

    No. That’s psycho.

What is a psychic? Harold asked.

Louise opened her eyes. A psychic can read your mind and tell you what is going to happen in the future. If I become a psychic, I can help people solve their problems.
