    Welcome to Turkey!

Turkey is about to change your world as you know it. It is a grand country, one of ancient times of another past, in what might seem as being from another world all of its own. There have been many factors which have shaped this land. The land in and of itself has been shaped and carved by the sea, volcanoes and earthquakes. Its political landscape has been shaped by many great empires, civilization and leaders. There is a mix of rich and diverse cultures that have formed and settled here, some from another era thousands of years ago. There have been tumultuous struggles, times of riches and times of famine, but it has all made it what it is today and why many visitors find it fascinating. Some come in search of a deeper meaning of life, some for history and some for culture. Whether you are a history buff or not, you are about to have the history lesson of your life by visiting, walking and travelling the roads where so many millions of people have travelled before you.

How you experience Turkey and what you take from it, or what you can offer it, is mainly up to you!

This travel guide is simply offering you to be a guide, pure and simple, well, maybe with some entertaining approaches to your travel plans. Do you wish to learn more about this country’s history? Do you wish to find riches of material or other forms of less-tactile wealth? The highlights of Turkey all depend on you, what intrigues you and perhaps what drives your existing or newly found passions.

    Iconic Turkey

A trip to Turkey would not be complete without a trip to Istanbul, where you can visit the ancient mosques and shop in some of the world’s oldest existing markets. If you are in Turkey, the Black Sea or the Euphrates and Tigris Basin should make your list, obviously. This guide will tell you all about these iconic Turkish delights. There is more. The Turquoise Coast and its name is no coincidence. This coastline that extends from Antalya to Bodrum and even further is known for crystal blue waters with the Taurus Mountain range in the background. Go on a cruise along the shore and take in all its beauty and wonder.

Visit the ancient city of Ephesus. See it in the cool of the early morning where you can walk the marble street towards the amphitheater and library and see the museum where you can view the excavated ancient Roman homes. In every corner and nook of Turkey you are bound to stumble on one culture, one empire or one religion of many. Stay, venture and explore.

    Unique Experiences

Visit the ‘sunken city’ of Kekova Island and get up close in a kayak. You can relax on one of the best beaches in the world, Iztuzu Beach with views of Greek islands off in the distance, lush forests and sand that shimmers like gold in the sunlight. The journey getting there on a small boat is part of the fun.

Go to the harbor town of Kas on a portion of the Turquoise Coast. It is perfect for those who need and want to have some outdoor fun. Here you can kayak, scuba dive or snorkel. Visit the deserted village of Oludeniz, make a pilgrimage of it and start walking from Kayakoy. It is a challenge, as any pilgrimage might be, but the views along the way will stimulate your senses and motivation to reach the beaches of this unique village that is worth some exploration of its own.
