Chapter 1
Baggage
Baggage (also known as emotional baggage) is a slang term for memories of previous bad social experiences. A woman of any age can have emotional baggage. The older a woman is,the more time she has had to accumulate bad experiences (baggage).
A woman can have bad experiences from previous relationships with males including friends, family members, ex-boyfriends and ex-husbands. It is common for a woman to allow emotional baggage to influence her behavior to be unpleasant towards new men that she meets including treating them abusively. A woman’s behavior and disposition can actually repel a man while she is trying to att ract aman.
Megan is an attractive 30 year old woman who has been in a relationship with Josh for seven months. Josh is a good man. Josh is handsome, considerate, intelligent and runs his own construction business. Megan and Josh have lived through nearly all of the trials that are discussed in this guidebook, and have come out with an exciting and rewarding relationship that is headed for marriage, a sthey are no w engaged.
While Megan did not have much baggage when she first met Josh, she did have some distrust regarding honesty of men because a few men had lied to her in the past. A woman makes a mistake when she ascribes her previous bad experiences onto a good man. Early in their relationship, Megan scolded Josh for being dishonest, only to learn that she was mistaken. A woman with emotional baggage will often repress, scold or reject a good man because she transfers (both consciously and unconsciously) her emotional baggage onto her current relationship. A woman makes a mistake when she allows her emotional baggage (or the emotional baggage of her best friend) to make herself unhappy during a social situation that would never make a normal, healthy-minded woman unhappy. Baggage commonly leads a woman to unfairly distrust a good man and behave defensively towards a good man. A defeatist attitude and pessimism
