About this ebook

I bet you prefer a real-world team building workshop over a pretend one, right?

Right-Minded Team building is not pretend. It's real.

Right-Minded Teamwork does not believe games, outdoor exercises, or social events are effective for improving teamwork. They can be fun. They are not valid team building methods. They are indirect and do not resolve team issues. They are, for the most part, pretend workshops.

Right-Minded Teamwork is a business oriented and a psychological approach to team building where acceptance, forgiveness and adjustment are teammate characteristics and customer satisfaction is the team’s result.

This is the text book for our free online training course [https://rightmindedteamwork.com/online-course-design-right-minded-team-building-workshop/]. The 12 Steps in this book will show you how to design a custom team building workshop that will achieve the 9 "Right Choices" in Right-Minded Teamwork.

This is a process that designs a workshop your teammates can’t wait to attend because they know they will get real work done!

This course summarizes, in 12-steps, Dan Hogan's three decades of in-the-field team building experience. Dan is a Certified Master Facilitator who personally facilitated over 500 team workshops in the USA and six other countries. The philosophy that created Right-Minded Teamwork was inspired by A Course in Miracles.

Testimonials:

Roger Baker, Principle of The Business of Policing and former Anaheim Police Chief said, "This course provided me with rational, structured approach to identifying and achieving the true goals of a team-building workshop."

Lydia Cole, Team Facilitator at Ultra Electronics said, "If I had to summarize the greatest benefit received I would have to say awareness. It gave me awareness of tools and processes to use to ensure I design the best possible workshops, that the participants know they have input to the design because they've been interviewed, that the desired outcomes are addressing the true root cause of whatever issues there are, and that the leader requesting the workshop is aligned to those desired outcomes."

The 12 Steps are organized in three parts: 1) Contract: Designing the first workshop 2) Commence: Facilitating the first workshop 3) Carry On: Continuing after first workshop

Here is a more detailed explanation:

Contract: Designing the first workshop
Step 1: Start with the End in Mind – Determine the initial workshop purpose and outcome.

Step 2: Facilitator Meets Leader to Understand their End-in-Mind Outcomes. Both agree to follow the 12-step process.

Step 3: Acceptance that What the Leader Wants May Not Be What the Team Needs.

Step 4: Facilitator Creates and Presents the First-Draft Plan to Leader.

Step 5: Leader Announces Workshop & Prepares Teammates.

Step 6: Conduct Right-Minded Teamwork Survey.

Step 7: Facilitator Interviews Teammates Who Will Participate in Workshop.

Step 8: Facilitator Presents Second-Draft Plan & Leaders will Fine-Tune.

Step 9: Leaders and Facilitator Finalize Agenda, Workshop Plan, Distribute Agenda.

Step 10: Achieve First Workshop Outcomes.

Step 11: Track & Report Progress for next 90 Days.

Step 12: Leader & Facilitator Begin Designing the Second Workshop.
