조이가 만난 방글라데시

This is travelling diary in Korean language. There were many negative things floating around in our minds and our thoughts often focused on the severe poverty, the lack of clean water and so on when I choose to visit Bangladesh. However, I did not want to let these negative things dominate my thoughts. I did not want to look back on this time and regret that we missed the chance to travel to this strange and intimidating country.
So we gathered up our courage and boarded a plane to Bangladesh with the mindset that in all of the bad there is always good - even beautiful - lessons to be learned from a place. Now, as I look back on this trip I can see that we were definitely rewarded for setting outside of our comfort zone. Bangladesh is definitely one country that proved to be beyond our expectations. We were invited to associate with the local people many times and had countless enjoyable experiences with them. And even though we saw a tremendous amount of poverty, we were also treated to some truly breathtaking natural scenery as well.
One Bangladeshi person told me “You will miss this country since people here are really kind and always try to help”. I found a lot of truth in those words. We do miss the people and wonderful food in this country. It was truly unlike other countries, we were treated very well as foreigners and got a lot of help from local people.
Also, if you are thinking of visiting Bangladesh then I need to give you a fair warning: if you visit one of the many beautiful rural locations in this country, if you eat its tasty food, and have wonderful conversations with its beautiful people, then you just may find that Bangladesh has carved out a little pace in your heart and - surprisingly - you will miss this country greatly once you leave. That was very true of us.
