Dedication

To my AMAZING wife Evodia Dieketseng Mametsa: God knew what He needed when He allowed me to marry you. You have never let it rest until I got it done – thank you, you are the love of my life. I thank you for all, I LOVE you with my heart. Sam.

My children: Percy, Sharon, Thabelo, Neo, Kgomotso and Nduvho. I love you very much. Much of the time I am supposed to spend with you, I spend on the work of God but I thank you for your understanding and love.

Acknowledgements

To my Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. Through all eternity I will have the privilege of thanking you for the wonderful salvation you gave so much for me to receive. I deeply appreciate how much you’ve honoured me by calling me to service You in the ministry. Thank you for an amazing life here on earth – there is nothing else that can compare to the joy and fulfilment of working for My King.

To the Pentecostal Holiness Church, South Africa in particular Bishop Joel Dibetsoe, our newly elected Bishop overseer and Lineco Bishop MW Lalamani – I know you made many large personal sacrifices in order to establish such a great successful church in South Africa. You lived lives of integrity, character and Godly holiness through our 100 years and more of sustaining our church with your membership and leadership. Thank you very much.

To Pastor Ndivhuho Thavhana: Thank you for a lifetime of dedication and going more than the extra mile to make this book happen. Thank you for amazing work, thank you for many long, late hours of work to make this book happen.

To Bishop G Ramatshimbila: You’re one great encourager! Every time I decided to quit you were always there for me, you encouraged me. I remember when you said: God’s people are perishing because of lack of knowledge. This kind of revelation is needed in our culture of idols. Thank you, man of God, finally it’s done.

To pastors, sons and daughters in the faith and all members of Kutama Pentecostal Holiness Church and our church worldwide: it has been a privilege to serve you as unto the Lord; the many years of love and support I have sensed coming from you has been a great encouragement to me many times throughout the years.

To Professor Ronnie Moodley of Faith Bible College: Like Paul the Apostle sat at the feet of Gamaliel, I have sat at your feet. You have demonstrated a life of integrity, passion and hunger for more of God. My entire Christian foundation was gained by endlessly studying your tapes and books. I will always be eternally grateful for your legacy.

To Shalati Mushwana: I thank you for your efforts in helping me to find this publisher, Reach Publishers.

To my family: thank you for your support and encouragement through the years. I am very proud of my sons and daughters and sons-in-law and nephew. You mean the world to me.

To IPHC: I would love to thank the City of Oklahoma, 39th Expressway Bethany for allowing our foundational church to be rooted there and to expand its wings through missions to come to South Africa and establish a wonderful church for us. Thank you Dr. A.D. Beacham, Jr. (Doug) the current General Superintendent and Presiding Bishop of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC). IPHC was formed in 1898; our spiritual roots as Pentecost are in the Day of Pentecost mentioned in the book of Acts. We currently have more than two million members and affiliates in 103 countries. This is a great job. Thank you very much.

Foreword

I am a called and saved child of God. I was saved in 1972 and baptised in 1976 in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, where I am pastoring. I am the overseer at Kutama Pentecostal Holiness Church. When God called me to His service, I was a Metro train driver. God instructed me to resign from Metrorail to become a full time minister at the abovementioned church. Today I am still a full time minister of this church.

I faced a number of challenges because I wanted to follow the voice of God and His guidance (2 Cor. 2:14). Indeed God led me to forty days and forty nights of prayer and fasting on the mountain for His revelation of this ministry of deliverance. God revealed to me that deliverance consists of three aspects: (1) Spiritual deliverance, (2) Physical deliverance and (3) Material deliverance.

After conducting the three aspects of deliverance on various people there were a lot of testimonies. I remember one case in particular: a lady who was seriously serving God in a certain church since the year 2000 decided to quit around 2008. She indulged in drinking liquor and ended up sleeping in the taverns. One good day, when I was going to church I met that lady and she was heavily drunk. I was touched as I knew her as a child of God. I asked her to join me in our church and she accepted my invitation but she said she would attend church the following week. When the next week arrived, I found her waiting for me, still drunk and wearing the same clothes she had been wearing the previous week. She was dirty as if she had not bathed and her clothes appeared not to have been washed. Finally, she came into the church. After hearing the message of how an idol can frustrate a person’s life she approached me and confessed that the message had touched her.

God revealed to me that her name was attached (linked) to her grandfather who was a sangoma and that the spirit of her great-grandfather wanted her to perform their rituals of appeasing the idols. She confessed that in her mother’s home there were tools, under her name, for worshipping ancestors. She indicated that she had refused the tools the time when she was in church. Her frustration, which led her to leave the church, was that she could not understand as to why being a child of God, she had continued to suffer whilst serving God so faithfully. She had then decided and said that there is no God. I wanted to prove to her that God exists and that He can save her if things were done properly i.e. complete deliverance. I taught her about being removed from the background (foundation) of ancestors and idols before becoming a Christian. I went with her to her mother’s house and asked for all those tools used to worship idols. Indeed her mother gave them to me. I led the lady in a prayer of renouncing the idols and I burnt and destroyed the tools.

She also told me that in the year 2000 she had attended a job interview and had been informed that she had excelled and would be called within a week. To her surprise she was never called for the job.

After her removal, the Spirit of the Lord said she needed to be baptised again and to partake of the Holy Communion. She obeyed and the following week the same company that had interviewed her so long ago called her on the phone and asked her why she had been absent from work for the past eight years. She could not understand because after her interview she had been told that she would be called and that had never happened until the year 2008. When she phoned me I told her to go to the company to get more information.

When she arrived the manager showed her a file showing that she had been absent from work for the past eight years. After they scrutinised the file, they found out that the appointment letter was never delivered or handed to her. All the appointment letters, including the original were still in the file. When the manager asked her secretary as to what had transpired, she confessed that she could not see or find the file for many years until the day when the manager had found the file in the year 2008. The manager realised that it was not the fault of the lady and told the lady to go and prepare herself and come to work. The manager told the lady that the company was going to pay her all the salary arrears for the past eight years backdated to the day of her appointment.

The lady was so happy praising God high and low even till this day. At that time she was also complaining about not being married. As we speak today, she is happily married and blessed with three children: two boys and a girl. Psalm 115:4-8.

Introduction

Deliverance of a Christian is a threefold process consisting of (1) spiritual deliverance, (2) physical deliverance and (3) material deliverance. All these processes of deliverance are to be followed for salvation to be complete.

Salvation starts with Spiritual Deliverance which is accomplished when a person believes in his heart that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. When a person confesses with his own mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, then he will be saved. The Bible states: 9 if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved Rom. 10:9-10 NIV.

This is the beginning of becoming a true Christian who must then undergo proper discipleship. The next step is water baptism where a person is completely submerged under the water according to Rom. 6:3-4 which states: 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life NIV. As a believer the person dies with Jesus Christ and is then resurrected with Him.

The Spirit: As soon as Jesus came out of the water after being baptised in the Jordan River, John the Baptist saw the Spirit of the Lord coming down like a dove. Matt. 3:16-17 reads: 16 And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. 17 And behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is My Son, My Beloved, in whom I delight!’ [Ps. 2:7 and Isa. 42:1] AMP. This means that when any believer is baptised the same Spirit must come upon him when he comes out from under the water. It is this very same Spirit that will change the life of that person and guide him. Jesus was baptised so that Christians can do the same. The Spirit is important, as we see in the following scriptures:

"8 But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth" Acts 1:8 AMP. See also Acts 2:1-4.

The blood: As Christians we need to partake of the blood of Jesus Christ through Holy Communion. Partaking of Holy Communion is a symbol of being a true worshipper of the Lord: 19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ 20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you’ Luke 22:19-20 NIV. When we drink the blood of Jesus Christ (the Holy Communion) we are drinking life. The Bible says: 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life Lev. 17:11 NIV. The blood of Jesus is more powerful than any other blood. It is blood that is uninfected by any impression of sin from without (without spot) - (1 Peter 1:19, Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary).

It is important to partake of Holy Communion because it brings deliverance. Sickness and disease cannot stand a chance in the body that is partaking of the body and blood of Jesus Christ.

Physical deliverance and material deliverance affect mainly those whose lives have been dedicated to ancestral idol worship. The rituals done during idol worship give power to the enemy when a person or his name is dedicated to the ancestral spirits and idols. These spirits/idols sometimes punish the children for the sins of their fathers. Ancestral idol worship works hand-in-hand with witchcraft spirits. Most inherited sicknesses, generational curses, poverty, divorce, closing of the womb and sending of demons to people is as a result of idolatry; the spirits punish the people for their failure to bow down to the ancestral idols. The spirits then interfere with the people’s material possessions as they don’t want them to have money or to prosper materially. They kill, steal and destroy all material wealth, opportunities etc. That is why it then becomes necessary for these people to undergo removal of name/s from the altar of ancestral worship.

In the case of material possessions, we find that most Christians stay in houses that have not been dedicated to God. The Bible tells us that God spoke to Moses about dedication: "37 Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and sanctify it (set it apart for God); and the altar shall be most holy; whoever or whatever touches the altar must be holy (set apart for God’s service)" Ex. 29:37 AMP. … 26 And you shall anoint the Tent of Meeting with it, and the ark of the Testimony, 27 And the [showbread] table and all its utensils, and the lamp stand and its utensils, and the altar of incense, 28 And the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver [for cleansing] and its base. 29 You shall sanctify (separate) them, that they may be most holy; whoever and whatever touches them must be holy (set apart for God). … Ex. 30:26-30 AMP.

"9 You shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and shall consecrate it and all its furniture, and it shall be holy. 10 You shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; and consecrate (set apart for God) the altar, and the altar shall be most holy" Ex. 40:9-10 AMP.

The last step of completing salvation is the baptism of fire. Remember the words of John the Baptist: 11 I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 His winnowing fan (shovel, fork) is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear out and clean His threshing floor and gather and store His wheat in His barn, but the chaff He will burn up with fire that cannot be put out Matt. 3:11-12 AMP. Those who have completed salvation are regarded as wheat.

Rejection of Knowledge

It is true that many people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge; but there are those who are being destroyed because although they come across accurate and proper knowledge they choose to reject it: "6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priests for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children" Hos. 4:6 NKJV. The Bible is very clear on this; people perish because of lack of knowledge, but the lack has its own source – rejection of that knowledge. When people refuse knowledge they therefore lack knowledge and the consequence thereof is perishing. The rejection of knowledge also results in people forgetting the law of the Lord.

When people reject knowledge they forget the law of God. Is it any wonder that even Christians in churches involve themselves in ancestral worship? Some are not even aware that it is against the Word of God; some do both i.e. they worship God and they also worship their ancestors. Some churches are based on ancestral worship; people worship, praise and serve ancestors in the name of our Lord. When and how do these evil doctrines find their way into the body of Christ? It starts with the rejection of knowledge.

"2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law" Prov. 4:2 KJV. The law of God is His doctrine, His word. "16 Jesus answered them, and said, ‘My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.’" John 7:16-18 KJV.

"16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" 2 Tim. 3:16 KJV.

If we say we are of God but do not know His word, then how are we going to run the church, our lives or our families? Something will definitely crop up to fill the void and guide us and that thing is obviously not of God. Once we reject the Word of God we reject God Himself, we reject Jesus Christ. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the Word of God. If we run a church or a family on any other principles or laws that are not of God then it can’t be Jesus Christ’s church, it can’t be His family. He said, My sheep know my voice; my sheep hear my voice. See the following scriptures: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 1:1 NKJV. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth John 1:14 NKJV. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God Rev. 19:13 NKJV. "27 My
