    Beggin’ For Murder

Ididn’t feel well. The scrambled eggs I ate for breakfast were threatening to come up. I glanced at Edge just as he shoveled another spoon full of Captain Crisp into his mouth. The smells of heavily sweetened corn cereal forced bile into the back of my throat. I swallowed and winced .

Edge eyes flitted at me then back at the television screen where the morning news anchor was explaining the grisly details of the latest murder. He finished his cereal then set the empty bowl on the end table next to his Barcalounger.

You okay? he said, covering his mouth with one hand to mask a

    small

    burp

Since I know Edge so well I knew he wasn’t interested if I’m sick or not. It’s not that he doesn’t care, it’s that he often has an agenda related to our private investigations business.

We’re PI’s who serve our Staten Island neighbors from Edge’s parents basement recreation room. Together we’ve rescued lost pets, broken up a gambling ring, assisted the police to catch a murderer or two, and helped a client to discover her husband wasn’t having an affair. He really was

    working

    late

    .

Putting it in general terms we help people. Since you’re reading this on my blog I suggest you read about our other cases in previous entries.

    "I’ll

    be

    okay

    ."

Edge shook his head. "You shouldn’t

    eat

    eggs

    ."

    Why?

    Salmonella.
