About this ebook

Snow drifted implacably out of the sky. The clear blue sky.

Keanu frowned, unsure what ancient magic could have created this pocket of snow in the middle of the jungle.

As the others left, Keanu hesitated. And then found himself trapped, his power burning away by the seconds.

God or not, the snow would consume him if he didn't figure out what was going on.

Keanu was on his own.

    Afterword

    The Snows of Obsession

Snow drifted implacably out of the sky. The clear blue sky. Not a cloud to be seen anywhere. Overhead, the sun burned down on them, rays as warm as a torch shoved into the face, which only made the chill of the snowflakes that much more shocking.

Keanu frowned, holding out a hand to capture some as they fell. Cold. Very cold. You'd expect them to be wet, especially once they hit his hand given how much heat he generally radiated, but the snowflakes didn't melt at all. In fact, they seemed to get larger, stiffer, stronger the longer they lingered against his palm.

He brushed them off and shuddered.

A tropical rain forest was not a place for snow. Granted, this clearing wasn't exactly a forest. The trees around the edges teetered as if on the verge of falling inwards towards them. Every little breeze made them creak and groan.

The sounds were painfully loud compared to the complete silence. No animals, not even a single parrot screaming. No insects and there should have been millions. Not even a lizard basking in the sun beating down on them.

Just snow drifting endlessly down to blanket the slowly dying vines and shrubs.

Is it just me or does this stuff not melt even if you breathe on it? Cyrille asked. He looked to Keanu who nodded, unwilling to speak for
