There was a stretch of back road in Indiana that had only one house on it. Years before, a man had bought forty acres of farm land beside the road. He built a small house for his wife, two children, and himself.

After three years of bad weather and bad harvest, the family had had enough. They loaded their meager possessions into their wagon and drove away. They all hoped to have better luck someplace else.

After years of abandonment, a man from town bought the house and it became the Back Road Saloon. The local farmers were too busy working themselves to death to patronize a saloon. As a result, it became a meeting place for men with bad reputations.
