To my Mum Issoutou Pauline and all women in the world
We have been undermined for years, taken as objects of acquisition by men. What we could only do was to clean, cook and make babies. Most of the time, we had no speech to make or no opinion to give. A few men have treated us with respect as princesses, but as for the rest, we were just belongings or the missing link to beget an heir. We have fought for our freedom because of the harsh treatment. We have fought to have a place in society and to be considered as human beings.
Some of our mothers, who could make it to school, have said NO to women abuse. They said NO to the silent slavery hidden under the word submission.
Since the foundation of the world, we have been accused by men. We have been seen as being responsible for the fall of humanity. The first man that ever existed, started it.
12 Then the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.
