Chapter One
Shen stood at the rail of the ship and stared at The Island that was a dot in the distance. He had blue eyes and black hair, barely long enough to be tied back out of his way. His hands tightened on the rail as he thought of what The Island could mean to him. When he arrived there, he hoped to find the answers that would lead him to his family. The Island was where everything had begun. He didn’t remember the volcanic eruption that had turned the group of islands into the single island he sailed towards as he’d been not quite four when it had happened. No it isn’t. I’m thinking of my next plan.
Sure. Anyway, who cares what you call it. Come and practice. We’ll land late this afternoon and I want to win gold at The Island Arena. It might be a new Arena, but I’ve heard there’s some tough competition there.
Lara grabbed hold of Shen’s hand, tugging him forward.
Are the others practicing?
Shen asked.
Lara nodded. We’re waiting for you.
Lara tugged Shen to the area where the captain had said they could
