About this ebook
It was like landing on a soft, transparent trampoline,
except that you didn’t bounce off.
In her haste to enter the little girl’s bedroom, the
glue fairy had flown into a huge spider’s web. At
first, she didn’t know what was happening; only
that she couldn’t move her arms, legs or wings. She
was covered with sticky strands – in her hair and
also wrapped around her body. The more she tried
to free herself, the more became entangled.

It was like landing on a soft, transparent trampoline, except that you didn’t bounce off .
In her haste to enter the little girl’s bedroom, the glue fairy had flown into a huge spider’s web. At first, she didn’t know what was happening; only that she couldn’t move her arms, legs or wings. She was covered with sticky strands – in her hair and also wrapped around her body. The more she tried to free herself, the more became entangled.
She screamed but, because she was so tiny, nobody could hear her. Nobody that is except for the spider who was waiting at the edge of his web with the tip of one of his legs on the main strand. He knew straight away that this was a juicy catch. As the fairy struggled, the spider felt the vibrations travelling through the web, telling the hairy monster how big his next meal was going to be.
As she lay sobbing in the moonlight, the glue fairy wondered if this was her punishment for the wicked things she had done since her fateful meeting with the tooth fairy and she remembered the chain of events leading up to this terrible situation…

Among the fairy kingdoms exists a very special group of ‘mending’ fairies that are responsible for mending children’s broken toys. Half of these fairies repair larger toys; these are the ‘fixer’ fairies. The other half mend smaller toys and are known as the ‘glue’ fairies and this story is about one of them .
Until recently, nobody had ever seen or even heard of a Glue Fairy. Unlike the Tooth Fairy, which every little boy and girl knows about, the Glue Fairy goes about her work gluing broken toys together but she is completely unknown to anyone.
During the night, while all children are fast asleep in their beds, the Glue Fairy squeezes through the smallest of gaps to enter their bedrooms. She flits around the room, her beautiful wings flapping so quickly that you can hardly see them, as she looks for broken toys to mend.
When she finds a broken toy, she flies up and lands next to it very softly, being very careful not to make any noise which could wake up the children. She runs her tiny finger along all the broken edges of the toy, and from her finger, a sticky substance emerges which is very similar to a spider’s thread. Then she joins the broken pieces together and they are instantly stuck.
She can make her glue as strong as a
