    Gott's Will - Tawny Clark

    Pat Tillman

    Chapter One

She was used to late nights.

The cool midnight air was a soothing balm as she stepped away from the heat of the forge.  Without pause she wiped the sweat from her forehead, and headed back to the heat.

Iza had always worked hard.  She wanted to prove herself to her father in the beginning, since he was left without sons.  However when he passed on, her work ethic just grew so that she could prove herself to the town.  He'd taught her everything, she was just as good as him- if not better.

She didn't want to admit defeat and look for a job or a husband that could let her live more comfortably.  She had too much to prove to give up that easily.

Humming to herself, Iza slipped lower into the tub.

The hot water eased and relaxed her strained arms and hands, the quiet of the sleeping town let her mind relax as well.  She savored moments like this, where she could unwind entirely.  Iza worked hard and constantly, any break was a blessing.

Grabbing her soap, she began to wash.  The black soot of the fire
