I enjoyed reading this book. It was informative and provided a great understanding of the self-publishing process. I like the author's writing style. There were many spelling mistakes in the beginning. Other than that, way to go!

Introduction

If you have ever dreamed of being a writer, putting your personal story or expertise out there for the entire world to see – I got good news for you!

You can make it happen faster than you can imagine. In fact, you can live your dreams by writing your own book and then self publishing them.

This is exactly what I did, and I really wish the same for you. If you’ll let me, and have an open mind, I will teach you the necessry steps to publishing books faster than 99% of publishers, using my unique writing formulas that have been responsible for my own personal success.

The Self-Publishing Formula

Self-publishing is the way that many writers today are choosing to get their book out to the public. Self publishing today is not the same as it was years ago when you had to spend thousands of dollars to publish your book. In fact, you can self publish a book for free online. I will discuss this topic in the next few chapters.

The first thing that you need to do is to know your genre or theme. The one rule of writing is that you should write about things you actually know a thing or two about. You can share your knowledge with your readers, and offer them your perspective on any given topic. If you have a specific type of books that you like to read, chances are that this is also what you will want to write about.

Take a look at your interests and the type of books that you read before you decide on your theme.

What Are You Passionate About?

In al fairness, book publishing is a lucrative business that many people use in order to quit their job or even simply to supplement their current income. However, your book publishing business should never be just about making money - it should be about something for which you have a true passion.

Since you are writing a non-fiction book, you might think that every book is relatively the same. This is not the case. You should know that there are various non-fiction genres you can choose from.

You need to make your non-fiction book stand out from the crowd in a way that will set it apart from other books of the same genre. If you are writing a Paleo Cookbook, for example, then you need to be asking yourself: how can I make it stand out from the other Paleo cookbooks that are on the market already?

Once you find your genre and know what you are writing about, you should start to think of marketing your book.

Make your book unique in some way. You want to write something that readers will immediately recognize when they see it in bookstores or online. Branding is always important, such as unity in covers and writing style. This will set your books apart from other books and entice readers to buy it. Many authors are finding that they can make a career out of self publishing their books and marketing them to the right audience.

Hone your Message

After you have figured out what you are going to write about and what will make your book stand out, you can then start to outline your book. Don’t worry, you don’t need to know how to outline as I will provide you with my formula later in this book. So just know that it’s needed, and leave it at that for now.

The way that you write also depends on the type of person that you are. If you prefer to have everything planned ahead, and work smarter, then you should do an outline that will tell you where you are going. This is like carrying a roadmap with you before taking a car trip.

Too little thought, or lack of proper planning, can both keep your book from reaching a conclusion. It takes a lot of creativity as well as some structure in order to write a successful book that people will want to read.

When outlining, generally, you should create and write down a rough synopsis of the book and the main point (or points) that you are trying to make. All good books carry a message, and outlining helps bring it home in a coherent way. Make sure that your book has a clear message that your readers can take away from the book at the end and apply in their lives.

I know that I have read some books in my life that, in retrospect, seemed like a
