    Albert Big Al Fenton was every bit his nickname. His graying sideburns came halfway down his cheeks and his naturally curly hair was cut short so that he didn’t have to do much beyond run a comb through it. Usually he would cover it with a cowboy hat, but inside the Lincoln Continental he didn’t have the head clearance. The hat sat on the seat beside him.

    The car leaned slightly to the left under Fenton’s considerable bulk as it moved slowly down HWY 89. He’d hit the edge of Ogden Wash and as per his agreement with Javier Quintana, he rolled through doing the speed limit so as to attract no attention. The Lincoln prowled past the old brick buildings that housed Dora’s Restaurant and A&M Automotive.

    He kneaded the steering wheel with his left hand as he drove, knuckles going white then red, white then red.

    What a hole, he muttered, breaking the silence inside the car.

    His whole reason for having to come out here was bullshit in his opinion. Javier Quintana, a man who used to work under Fenton, had demanded a face to face meeting. The fact that he had to acquiesce to his former employee’s demand pissed him off to no end, but that was only part of his frustration. The other was that if this wasn’t an overreaction on Javier’s part, he was going to have to rearrange things in his own organization and that was something
