About this ebook

A Collected book of poetry written by Robert Kelly. Including love poetry and free verse poetry. It has been the majority of poetry that has been written by myself to those of whom I owed unrequited love. That is love that wasn't necessarily recognised or returned. What remains in the book is other attempts at poetic writing.

Hi, My Name is Robert. I started creative writing at age 19. I got interested in it as a result of re-doing my year 10 because I didn't do that year properly when I was in high school the first time. I will always remember my first story. the teacher gave us a list of five random items and told us basically, build a story involving these items. Most of the class turned in small pieces of work. Myself and a lady both turned massive pieces. Mine being over seventy foolscap pages. Since then I have written many poems, short stories, two plays include a one-act play and a few songs. Although they are only lyrics because I couldn't write music to save my life. I am now forty. Am I working on a novel? I wouldn't say so. I really don't believe my works have the length to be a novel. Even the longest ones are maybe novelettes I think. But to me they will always be short stories. My inspiration is anything and everything. As of yet I don't have anything in print.

    Acknowledgments and Author's Introduction

First of all, thank you to every person who ha chosen to purchase and/or read this book.

The full WORKING title of this book was "Love Is No Excuse (For Bad Poetry)"

Whether or not this book ACTUALLY contains BAD poetry or not I guess will be determined by how well it does as a published book. If you are reading this, dear reader then you have finished my book of poetry and hopefully have survived the experience with MOST of your vital organs in tact.

My original thoughts on love poetry or poetry dedicated to people; was that it ranked up there with the kind of things that made a person want to projectile vomit.

And then I started writing the stuff. This doesn’t necessarily make it any more digestible. It does however give me some understanding into the sheer ferocity of power that the emotion of love is able to bring to bear, when it chooses to.

    Acknowledgements

I should probably give credit to my Ex-wife Kylie. You might or might not read this. I strongly doubt it. She was the one who gave me the idea
