About this ebook
"Another Brick in the Wall" is a story, written in dialogue and paragraph form, about a woman named Lavender Greenwood. She hates her job and co-workers and is desperate to get out.
While her husband, Nigel, is a struggling musician, she waits everyday to hear from record companies saying that they will record the music by Lavender and Nigel's band. The play is also inspired by Pink Floyd's album, "The Wall," and it includes some references to the band and their work.
For this title, Jen decided to to away with strict grammar conventionality as evidenced by the overall format.

For all the brilliant writers and artists who have died young.
And for those who grew old and did not go gentle into that good night…
There’s a woman walking down the street, bouncing to the tune from her MP3 player. Her hair blows freely in the wind. It is a bright sunny day, and there are many visitors at the park. This woman is happy because she knows that she is completely free on this Sunday afternoon; the nice weather only adds to the atmosphere.
The young woman is smiling because she is enjoying her leisure time, and there is no one around to bother her. She is wearing a T-shirt and sweatpants.
Although she looks a bit disheveled, someone observing from behind can see that she is taking happy strides toward her destination.
This poor woman, however, is not always happy. On days when she works, she is subjected to tyrannical co-workers and feelings of unexpressed rage. She often doesn’t know what she can do with herself until she gets a free moment to do whatever she feels is right. Her name is Lavender, and this is her story:
Act 1: Scene 1
Lavender walks into her job in a twenty-story office building. She’s mentally prepared herself to start another day. Though it is still early, she can already feel the hostility in the atmosphere.
ENTER: Lavender
Lavender: Good morning, Co-workers 1-4.
Co-workers 1-4: Good morning, Lavender.
Though her co-workers, in unison, responded to her greeting, they only did it out of obligation. Their response, as always, seemed emotionless and uninvolved. Lavender did not refer to her co-workers as numbers, but that is what she thought of them because she refused to think of these others as people.
She does not carry on regular conversations with them, and she certainly does not find herself hanging around with them outside of the workplace. They are merely co-workers, and nothing more.
Co-workers 3 and 4 went back to their cubicles, while Co-workers 1 and 2 stayed behind to talk with Lavender a little more. If there was anyone in the office who Lavender despised the most, it was these two people
because they seemed to give her a hard time, and they were the kinds who did it with smiles on their faces.
Exit: Co-workers 3 and 4
Co-worker 1: Gee, you look a bit bushed, kid. How did you sleep last night?
While Lavender liked to have people think of her as a kid, because it insinuated that she was still young, she hated it when they referred to her as kid
in a condescending manner.
Lavender: I slept
