About this ebook

A short selection of dark poetry.

Foreward by Lydia Schoch (blogger & Goodreads Author)

"A Dark Corner of my Soul was a refreshing and well-written read, a raw and honest compilation of poetry purely written from his heart. Dare I say, very Leonard Cohen-ish!"

Brigitte Lord, author of "We Live in the Shadows"

"An amazing collection of literary prose which Weatherall has kept locked in a desk drawer for two decades is now a short collection of dark and deeply disturbing  poems.

"The reader is transported into the mind of someone suffering and you can see the images of his words as if they were your own.

"As a sufferer myself, I was amazed at just how much he was able to write and convey how mental illness makes a sufferer feel. Those images which are so difficult to explain that haunt the head flow off the page, raw and exposed for all to see.

I couldn't possibly choose a favourite in the collection as they were all so powerful and beautifully written. Michel  has a true talent and after reading I felt he was extremely brave to share such wonderful, if dark work."

A Dark Corner of My Soul - Michel Weatherall

    Foreword

    ––––––––

Are you prepared to face what's really lurking in the dim recesses of your mind?

The first thing I noticed about this poetry collection was how unashamed it was to dig into the thoughts that most of us like to pretend are not rattling around in the back of our skulls. You know the ones. They undulate when you brush against them, and they always seem to grow a few sizes bigger in the middle of the night.

There's a dreamlike quality to this collection. What happens next in each poem doesn't always follow the cold logic of morning understanding. Yet it still makes perfect sense in the dark.

I've known Michel for well over a decade now. These poems are exactly what I expect to see from him. He's always had a dark streak in his writing. It's even more prevalent here than in anything else I've read from him so far.

So go take a look, if you dare.
