Blessed Generation (First Edition) - Kenny Mokoena

    13pt

    Foreword

    By Apostle MVG Lephoko

Pastor Kenny as he is affectionately known in the COTH family of churches, is one of the faithful spiritual sons God has given to me and my wife.

Pastor Kenny and his wife Tshepile are ordained Pastors in Church on the Hill. They serve with us in our Johannesburg branch of COTH. God has truly blessed him with a teaching and propheticanointing. He carries a special teaching grace on tithe and offering.

I knew from the first day he stepped into COTH that his life will be connected to mine for life. Pastor Kenny’s life is a testimony of what obedience in the area of finances can do to a life of a believer. His faithfulness in tithes and offerings has moved him from zero to hero.

My wife and I honour God for the privilege He has given to us to raise Kenny and prepare him for the ministry that God gave him before he was conceived in the womb of his mother. Kenny and his wife have honoured us in many ways, and have also gone an extra mile in ministering to the church with their substance. He is indeed a son of encouragement. I am honoured to be called Kenny’s father.

I am also grateful to my other spiritual sons and daughters for the encouragement they have given to Kenny and his family over the years. This is the fruit of your love, prayers and positive criticisms.

I am confident that this book will be a blessing to the Body of Christ in South Africa, Africa and the world. Every local pastor must encourage his church members to buy and read this book.

The missing puzzle has been found, now the church can take over before the return of Jesus Christ.

    Apostle MVG Lephoko

    Acknowledgements

I thank the Lord for counting me faithful to be in the Ministry and for entrusting me with the mystery contained in this book.

To my spiritual parents, Apostle MVG Lephoko and Mother Ofentse, thank you so very much for identifying the call of God upon my life, for believing in me, for the training of many years and for ordaining and releasing me to function in my calling. God used you to make my life Brighter, Better and Bigger. My wife, my children and I love you too much and nothing will ever change that.

This book is indeed the fruit of your labour!

I thank all the Pastors, Leaders and Members of our Church for their prayers, encouragement and Support. We are knitted together for life.

To my wife Tshepile, you are truly a gift from God. I don’t know if I would ever have become a Pastor if you did not come into my life. Thank you for believing in me, for being my best coach and cheerleader, and for being the world’s best mother to our four children: Tshepelang, Tshepiso, Tshepang and Tshediso. I love you and our children very much!

This book is dedicated to all

the Believers who support their local

Churches with their tithes and offerings.

    Preface

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last Revelations 22:13

Jesus is God’s Firstborn. Through Him, God created everything and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Romans 8:29, the bible says that Jesus is the Firstborn among many brothers. We are the many brothers of Jesus by virtue of our new birth. This means that we have been elevated to a level that is much higher than our minds can fathom. We are joint heirs with Jesus and beneficiaries together with Him. God has made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 2:6), far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:20). As Jesus is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). I don’t know about you, but this is what I remind myself of every day.

In this book I used types, pictures, symbols and shadows to illustrate various points. Also pay attention to the words and phrases that I have underlined for more or special emphasis. I have mainly used the New King James bible version for the scriptures, unless otherwise stated and also have incorporated the AMPC bible version, which is known as the Amplified Classic Edition.

The bible is a book of typology, symbols, pictures and mysteries. For example, Romans 5:14 says,

...Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

    Galatians 4:22 says,

For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bond-woman, the other by a free woman. But he who was of the bond-woman was born according to the flesh, and he of the free woman according to the promise, which things are symbolic.

In Colossians 2:16-17, the apostle Paul refers to foods, festival or new moon or Sabbaths as a shadow of things to come. There are many such scriptures throughout the bible. Jesus is in the entire bible, hidden in types, symbols, shadows and pictures.

Before we can appropriate the reality of the new birth (our born- gain status) and what it means to us, we must first understand how much God loves His Son, Jesus. Understanding how much God loves Jesus, will help us realise how much God loves us. Jesus is the sum total of everything that God has ever created.

For the Believer, everything starts and ends with Jesus. Anything else that we try to do apart from Him is a waste of time (John 15:5). If what you hear every Sunday in your Church is principles, but those principles are not built around what Jesus has already done on the cross, you are wasting your time. Life is not about principles, but about Jesus. Principles are good, but not apart from Jesus. They must never replace what Jesus has accomplished through His death on the cross.

To live on principles apart from Christ is a demotion because principles will never ever be able take us close to what Jesus has accomplished for us on the cross. What separates us from the world is not principles, but Jesus Christ (see Galatians 4:3-5). The world operates on principles, but the Church operates on faith in Jesus Christ. If you live on principles as a Believer, then you are trying to buy what has already been purchased and paid for with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. In John 15, Jesus said that without Him we can do nothing. God has designed creation to revolve around Jesus Christ.

    Jesus Is Everything

When God spoke for the first time in Genesis 1:3 He said, Let there be light. In essence, what God was saying is, Let there be Jesus, because Jesus is the Light of the World (John 8:12). God established, through this verse, that Jesus is the beginning of everything. Jesus calls Himself the Alfa and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. You and I are in-between. We do not start and we do not end. The difficulty in the world today, and even in the Church, is that many other things have taken the place of Jesus as the First and the Last.

In the parable of the lost coin in Luke 15:8, Jesus talks about a woman, she is symbolic of the Church, who had ten silver coins. When she lost one coin, she lights a lamp, sweeps the house, and searches carefully until she finds it. Notice, in this verse, that the first thing she did was to light a lamp. When the lamp is on, the result is that light comes. The lighting of the lamp speaks of revelation, and the Light itself is Jesus Christ. Without the Light, the Church will never walk in the fullness of the blessing. What the Church needs today, is not prosperity, but the revelation of the person of Jesus Christ. Prosperity comes through the grace that is in Jesus Christ. The lost coin in the verse represents prosperity or wealth, which you and I must find, but we can only find it if we light the lamp. The wealth, when found, must bring great joy to those around us. The wealth must be given a mission to win souls. This is the purpose for the end-time wealth.

In Matthew 16:16-18, Peter answered Jesus and said,

You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered Peter and said, Blessed are you, Simon-Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

The two words that stand out in the passage for me are reveal and rock. I believe that for the Church to be established and for it to walk in great power, there must be a revelation of the rock, and that rock is Jesus Christ. The devil will never succeed against a Church that knows who Jesus is, and what His death on the cross has accomplished. The Church must be established on the revelation of Jesus Christ. It is when Jesus is revealed to us that the gates of hades will not prevail against it.

In this book, I remind you that Jesus is not just a name. He is alive and He is real. He was crucified but on the third day, He rose from the dead, in great power and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. This may come as a shock to you, but I have realised that Jesus has been forgotten in many Churches. His name is still being mentioned, a bit, but the reality of His existence has been lost completely. Jesus has been replaced by principles, when the principles were designed to reveal Him. Today we hear the word grace mentioned in Church, not as a person, but as a force or power. Do you know that there is no grace apart from Jesus? Jesus is the manifestation of the grace of God. Grace is not just undeserved favour, as defined by many, it is neither a force nor a power, but a person. What makes it amazing is that grace came in the person of Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that the free gift of righteousness may be imputed to many. This book is a call to put the amazing back to grace.

    The Good News

There are many things written in this book which will go totally against what you have heard before. I suggest that you read it in partnership with the Holy Spirit and ask Him to reveal even more truth to you. He is the great Revealer of mysteries. What I’m bringing to you in this book is the good news of the gospel of Christ, as originally intended by God. I’m taking you back to the days of the early Church that walked in great grace and great power. This is not a book for everyone, but only for the sons and daughters of Abraham. Galatians 3:9 says that those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. If you have faith in Jesus Christ, I want you to know from the onset that you are blessed. The blessing is your inheritance as a Believer. If you are born-again, you are the Blessed Generation!

    Giving Under Grace

In this book, you will learn how giving works, from a grace perspective. After reading this book, you will enjoy your giving because it will be done under grace and directed by the Holy Spirit. It is so fulfilling to give under the prompting of the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, it is so hard to give under compulsion or from a sense of obligation. I believe that giving is so fundamental to our spirituality and that it is very profitable. However, I have a serious problem with preaching that replaces the free gift of grace with the power of the seed. In this book, I make a case that before the seed, there is a fruit first. We have made giving, in our preaching, to be more about the seed, instead of the fruit. In the New Testament, the Seed is Jesus Christ. He is the one who produces the fruit which carries the seed.

The good news is about believing and not doing. When you believe, you walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. What guides a Believer is not principles but the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit takes hold of you, He empowers you and works through you. It no longer becomes you who work but the Holy Spirit working through you. With no effort, you are able to accomplish much. Grace is Jesus Christ. He is the one who does the work in us and through us. He tells us where to go and when we get there, He gets the job done. Great business people, doctors, lawyers, scientists, inventors, kings and presidents perform and excel in their trades, professions and careers through the Holy Spirit. I call Him the Difference Maker.

    You Have Been Given Authority

If you read the bible in Deuteronomy 8:18 it says, And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth… I always thought that the word power refers to the ability to get results. I share a mystery with you today. What you need is not the ability to get results. As a Believer, ability, you already have. What you need is authority. Authority is power. When you have authority, no one can argue with you. Many people with great ability, but without authority, earn mediocre income and those with authority and less ability, run big businesses and employ those with great ability. The verse does not say that you shall remember the Lord so that he can give you the power to get wealth. It says that when you become wealthy, you shall remember the Lord. God does not want us to think that our strengths and the might of our hands have made us wealthy. God is the only one, through His Son, who can make us wealthy.

In Luke 4:6 the bible tells us that satan showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and said to Him, All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whoever I wish. Unless the Church rises up and takes authority in Christ, satan will continue to control the wealth of the world and use it to cause confusion on the earth. When Jesus died on the cross, He claimed the authority back and gave it to us.

What we need, today, is to walk in it. This is what this book is all about. Wealth and riches are an inheritance for the Church but the Church must rise up and claim it by faith. After the lamb was sacrificed in Egypt, in Exodus 12, God executed judgment upon Pharaoh and caused him to deliver the wealth of Egypt to the children of Israel. The bible says that the children of Israel demanded from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. The Lord gave the children of Israel favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they demanded. Thus, they plundered the Egyptians (Exodus 12:35-36). This all happened after the lamb, a picture of Jesus, was sacrificed. This is how they received authority to demand the wealth of Egypt, with confidence and boldness.

If you want God to use you to impact and touch your generation with wealth and riches, this book is for you. If you want God to trust and use you as a steward and a vessel of honour for the harvest of souls, the message in this book will prepare you. If you are hungry for God and you want to develop an intimate relationship with the Lord, you are reading the right book.

The content of this book will equip you to break free from stress, anxiety, fear, debt and poverty. God is about to establish you as the commander of covenant end-time wealth. There is a treasure within you that is about to be unleashed. If you are planted in a local Church, and you want to be a pillar of your Church, the secret is in knowing who you are in Christ. If
