    C.M. Kornbluth, (original name Cyril M. Kornbluth (1923-1958), was an American science fiction author whose stories reflect a dark, acerbic view of the future. Kornbluth’s well-plotted fiction was acclaimed for its vision and social concerns. Critical of stories in which science was presented as the ultimate saviour of humanity, Kornbluth instead examined the social fabric of society and the dangers of sophisticated technologies allowed to run amok. “12 Rarities” contains 12 short stories rarely or never reprinted since first publication.
