    Tara DeMaris (pictured right) and Amanda Keller make up the executive leadership of the Titus II Woman Ministry. They share a passion for encouraging people to look for the extraordinary in the ordinary of daily life. Both authors have a story of faith in their individual journeys. Tara is a wife to David and mother of four. Many of their seventeen years of marriage have been spent moving where the military took them. Amanda is a wife to Nathan and mother of two. Their sixteen years of marriage found them in pastoral ministry in various locations. While life has taken both of them on their own journeys, these authors unite to bring hope and encouragement to people of all walks of life.

      So many people had a hand in our journey. Our husbands, David and Nathan, have been so supportive by encouraging us to be all that we can be and pushing us to pursue God’s call. We love you both and cannot imagine doing life with anyone else. Our parents provided for and protected us as we grew in Christ. Our moms are our biggest fan club! Our kids have been the best throughout this process, giving up some of their time with us to allow Mom to write and dream big dreams.       Titus II Woman Ministry reaches women right where they are, from where we are. It is about being active in God’s call to mentor each other where God has planted us. You don’t have to have your name on billboards, be a well-known actress, have songs at the top of the charts, or be a renowned speaker to reach the heart of the woman next to you. We reach neighbors, friends, younger generations, and family through the way we live our life; real and raw. None of us are perfect, but we work through imperfect progress. We live real and reach real.

      Throughout the pages that follow, you will hear our journey as two ordinary women who placed what they had in the hands of an extraordinary God. We watched as He grew our dreams into a ministry that would reach people not only nationally, but globally through simple faith and words shared.

      Our prayer for you as you read our words—coupled with lessons from God’s Holy Word—is that you would feel empowered to start or continue your own journey with God. He has amazing things for all of us. We have been stunned by how God has moved in our journey together and our separate lives. We want you to experience all that God has for you as well. It all starts with a step of faith. One single step. Thank you for taking this journey with us. We are so humbled and blessed that you chose to join us.

      Each section is followed by a few questions and a journal section. Some questions can be answered on the lines provided and others will need more introspection and prayer. Please use these journal pages as the Lord leads you. Perhaps you’ll pen your inner thoughts, record your personal prayers, mark things you feel you could improve on or write any notable lessons or questions you’ve gleaned from this book. How you choose to use the journal pages is between you and Jesus.

      May God bless you as you take time to experience Him more. How much time, you ask? That is up to you. You are not tied to a timeline here. We know firsthand how life can get busy and throw you curveballs. We want to encourage you to do a little every day, but if you can’t dig in for a day or two, then just pick it up where you left off and continue your journey. Each section is designed to only take about ten minutes to read and ten minutes to journal responses to the questions.

      An Uncertain Calling

      Have you ever felt in your soul that God was asking you to do something very specific? You heard His voice clearly. He had a mission for you and yet, you were still uncertain of saying yes to the call.

      I have never been more uncertain of saying yes to God than when He asked me to start a women’s ministry. Sitting in my living room, after finally finishing my last class to attain my bachelor’s degree, I was questioning my next step in life. What do You want me to do with this degree? How can I use this now? What do I do? Lord, I need you to tell me what to do. I was crying out to God and He spoke very unmistakably, It’s time.

      Again, I was in question, Time for what?

      As soon as the question popped out of my mouth, He answered, Time to start a women’s ministry.

      Seven years before the birth of Titus II Woman Ministry, I was in a very similar living room asking the same question: What do You want me to do? He told me then to start a women’s ministry as well, but I had a plethora of excuses why I was not the person for the job. My number one excuse back then was not having finished my degree yet.

      Having graduated with honors, I could no longer use that excuse. I was back in the same place again. I gave God an uncertain yes to starting Titus II Woman Ministry. I was willing to give it a shot but was skeptical of what would come of it. The thought of failure surrounds me when starting something new, even when God has clearly spoken. As I questioned myself in training, equality, and preparedness, God immediately countered each thought with chosen, equipped, and more than enough. Most of all,
