    Obesity is the greatest health menace Western culture has faced since the great plagues that ravaged Europe in the fifteenth century. From expansive weight gains people have contracted some of the most serious diseases flowing through our communities. The worse of these are hypertension, diabetes and significant heart impairments. Obesity affects every system in the body and shortens lifespan. Addictive eating habits are evident in every other person you see living within the confines of our society. In many cases people weigh two to three times what is considered a normal weight. By the millions people visit health care providers for obesity related diseases. Sadly death has come too early to many who should have been the most productive amongst us. Therefore obesity should be considered not only a condition but a disease.

    In order to manage this wide spread affliction of society good eating habits should be taught from the earliest times and for many years they were. In current the period school curriculums have moved away from food education. In many systems gym classes have become secondary requirements. Obesity is seen in some of the youngest members of society because we have failed to emphasize the latter functions. As the years move on children become overweight adults who allow their own offspring to consume food excessively and the cycle goes on and on. Therefore diet education and nutrition teaching have become moral imperatives.

    Embedded in this e-book are concepts that were first introduced in the very popular book The Millenium Diet, The Practical Guide for Rapid Weight Loss. The latter book had patrons in many countries who provided excellent feedback. The Fat Zone updates and extends on these concepts with a diet program that follows the latest trends in nutrition, science and dieting.
