To make his misery worse, he finds his yoga teacher boyfriend in bed with another guy the day before Valentine’s Day. Micah decides to drown his misery at a friend’s anti-Valentine’s Day orgiastic hookup party—and meets the beautiful Queen, a gorgeous cross-dresser who’s got Southern sugah in his mouth and the right equipment under the dress. But when the hookup turns serious, Micah has to compromise to protect Queen’s secrets from his beloved grandmother. With everything against them, can two hearts rise above the flour?

I have been reading romances about cross-dressing characters this weekend, so I found this one interesting from the blurb.

It was a fairly light hearted book about two competing restaurant owners, one a vegan and the other a bakery owner. Their opposites attract romance was cute with just a bit of angst to keep it interesting.

In the short book, the author did a good job of developing the characters and I really enjoyed Quentin.

The only thing I wish was that the book was longer.

Hearts and Flour is the first book I have had the pleasure to read by Tara Lain. It most certainly won't be my last. Tara Lain has a nice flow of telling a story that keeps you turning pages. This is a really great story about two totally opposite guys. I really enjoyed reading about Micah & Quentin. Micah Truveen thinks he has his life under control. He has a fabulous business of selling raw, vegan food in his restaurant that he loves. He also has what he thinks is the "perfect" boyfriend. Just when he thinks all is perfect he finds out his boyfriend is cheating on him and a cupcake store has opened up next door. His customers are buying lots of cup cakes after working so hard to purify their systems. It's driving Micah nuts! Dang his world was just falling apart. I loved Micah, he such a sweet, caring guy. He needs a break for things to go well for him. He goes to a party at his friend's house and meets Quentin Darby. The sparks between these two turn into fireworks from the beginning. Quentin Darby is leading a double life. He is a cupcake baker gentleman (yes the same cup cake store that is driving Micah nuts) taking care of his grandma in the light of day. By Night Quentin is Queen a cross dressing gay man that has knocked the socks off Micah. Quentin has not came out to his grandma and thinks she knows nothing of his double life. I really loved Quentin's Grandma, she is one cool lady that knows more then people think she does. Things get complicated and these two have work out a lot of things in order to get together. I loved this story is shows how quickly you can form feelings for someone and want to protect them. I really enjoyed this book. It is a HOT, HOT, quick read that keeps you turning pages to see how these two are finally going to get together.I would highly recommend this book if you are a fan of m/m erotica. I think you'll love it. Of course if you are already a fan of Tara Lain I'm sure you will enjoy this one. I know I sure did. I can't wait to see what she has planned for her next book.
