20 Recipes Without Refined Sugars - Nancy B. Moore

    recipe.

Homemade Onion & Chicken Bone Broth

    Makes: about 2 liters

    INGREDIENTS

Bones and scraps of a whole chicken

2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar

1 of each: red onion, sweet onion, and yellow onion chopped in big pieces

4 cloves of garlic, chopped coarsely

About 2 liters of water or cover the bones (Will depend on how big is your chicken)

    INSTRUCTIONS

Heat a large stove top pot at medium-high.

Add the chicken bones and scraps with the chopped onions and garlic. Fry for about 5 minutes or until onions are a little brown tossing around with a spatula.

Pour the raw apple cider vinegar over the bones, and then add the water.

Bring it to a boil before reducing the heat to a low minimum and cover the pot.

Let it simmer for a minimum of 8 hours.

Let it cool with the lid on.

Once it’s cooled down to room temperature, put into the kitchen sink, a large bowl with a strainer over it. Uncover your pot and pour its contents into the strainer.

Discard what is left in the strainer. Then use or save the bone broth for 3-4 days in the fridge or about a year in the freezer.
