    INTRODUCTION

    The Air fryer is a kitchen and cooking appliance that cooks food by hot air circulation. The hot air is circulated around the food you are cooking by a motorized fan that runs at a very fast speed. As a result, the food is cooked and a crispy layer is produced - majority of air fryers have adjustable timer and temperature knobs that permits more accurate cooking. In an air fryer, the food is coated with a thin oil layer and the air circulation is heated up to about 400ºF to fry foods like pastries, fish, chicken, and more; unlike conventional cooking methods, in which the food is cooked by immersion in boiling and hot oil.

    Air Fryer Benefits

    Deep fried foods tend to be unhealthy, ridden of most of its nutritional value and high in calorie. Since the air fryer uses little oil quantity and dry heated air to cook food at very high temperatures, the need to fry food for a long time is unnecessary with the taste and quality of the food staying same. The air fryer doesn't need to be preheated or prepped and the dangers associated with the consumption of fried foods have been eliminated. The benefits of the air fryer are numerous, and I have outlined just a few of the advantages below.

    The food cooks evenly as the surrounding air is heated.

    Within the space of 2-3 minutes, the air fryer temperature can rise up to 300 degrees; the food is initially at room temperature and doesn't burn at such high temperatures.

    It is an ideal cooking appliance for folks who are extremely busy and still want to enjoy eating healthy foods despite their time and schedules.

    The air fryer has an exhaust structure that gets rid of any smell and a cooling system that keeps it cool.

    This cooking appliance is not only used to fry, it can bake, grill and roast also.

    It is a safe cooking appliance with no oil spills and the mess is very minimal.

    Since little oil is used, clean up is easy. The air fryer parts are dishwasher safer.

    The air fryer has automatic shut off.

    The air fryer timing can be controlled and the temperature increases rapidly.

    The amount of oil used in air frying is reduced by almost 70-80% which is super good for your health. Trans-fats and unhealthy oil related diseases are drastically eliminated.

    ASSORTED BISCUITS & COOKIES

    Shortbread Cookies (Air Fried)

    Preparation Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 20 minutes

    Serves: 2 servings

    Ingredients

    75 g caster sugar

    250 grams plain flour

    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    175 grams butter

    Chocolate buttons

    Method

    1. Heat up air fryer to 360ºF.     

    2. Add every ingredient into a mixing bowl, excluding the chocolate.

    3. Mix until a smooth and fine dough like consistency is reached.

    4. Roll out dough and cut out with a cookie cutter into desired shape.

    5. Transfer cut out cookies into a baking sheet with little spaces between the cookies.

    6. Place baking sheet into the basket of the preheated air fryer.

    7. Bake for 10 minutes.

    8. Top half-baked cookies with chocolate buttons and adjust air fryer temperature to 320ºF.     

    9. Bake for 10 more minutes.

    10. Serve with marshmallows and hot chocolate and enjoy.

    Lemon Biscuits (Air Fryer)

    Preparation Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 5 minutes

    Serves: 9 servings

    Ingredients

    100 grams caster sugar

    100 grams butter

    Juice & rind of 1 small Lemon

    225 grams self raising flour

    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    1 small egg

    Method

    1. Heat up air fryer to 360ºF.     

    2. Add butter, sugar and flour into a mixing bowl and mix until a breadcrumb-like consistency is reached.

    3. Shake bowl to make sure the butter flour mixture is evenly combined.

    4. Add egg, lemon juice and rind into the mixture and combine.

    5. Knead mixture until dough is tenderized and roll the dough.

    6. Cut out cookies with a medium sized biscuit cutter into desired biscuit shape.

    7. Transfer biscuits onto a baking sheet and place in the preheated air fryer.

    8. Bake biscuits for 5 minutes and set aside until cooled.

    9. Sprinkle biscuits with icing sugar, serve and enjoy.

    Milky Smartie Cookies (Air Fryer)

    Preparation Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 10 minutes

    Serves: 9 servings

    Ingredients

    100 grams caster sugar

    100 grams butter

    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    225 grams self raising flour

    3 tablespoons cocoa

    5 tablespoons milk

    50 grams white chocolate

    1/3 tube of chocolates smarties

    Method

    1. Heat up air fryer to 360ºF.     

    2. Add sugar, flour and the cocoa into a big mixing bowl and stir until combined.

    3. Add vanilla essence and the butter into the mixture and mix until well combined.

    4. Crush white chocolate using a rolling pin until small chips are formed.

    5. Add milk and chocolate into the flour mixture and mix until combined and incorporated.

    6. Knead until smooth and tenderized.

    TIP: You can add more milk if you feel the need.

    7. Roll the dough with rolling pin until flat and cut out using a cookie cutter into desired shapes.

    8. Top cookies with the smarties - half inside and half out.

    9. Transfer cookies into a baking sheet and place in the preheated air fryer.

    10. Bake cookies for 10 minutes.

    11. Serve and enjoy with warm milk.

    Creamy & Tender Chocolate Cookie Dough

    Preparation Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 20 minutes

    Serves: 4-6 servings

    Ingredients

    75 grams brown sugar

    100 grams butter

    100 grams chocolate

    175 grams self raising flour

    1 tablespoon milk

    4 tablespoons honey

    Method

    1. Heat up air fryer to 320ºF, 10 minutes before cooking. 

    2. Add butter into a big bowl and beat until softened.

    3. Add the cream and sugar into the butter bowl and mix until fluffy and light.

    4. Add the flour, honey into the big bowl and mix until incorporated.

    5. Crush chocolate with a rolling until small chunks are formed.

    6. Add chocolate chunks into the butter mixture

    7. Add the milk into the butter mixture and mix thoroughly.

    8. Scoop the dough into a baking tin and transfer into a baking sheet layered preheated air fryer.

    9. Bake for 20 minutes.

    10. Serve and enjoy.

    Air Fryer Cream & Fluffy Shortbread

    Preparation Time: 15 minutes

    Cook Time: 17 minutes

    Serves: 4 servings

    Cream Filling Ingredients

    50 grams butter

    100 grams (sieved) icing sugar

    Rind & juice of 1 small lemon

    Shortbread Ingredients

    75 grams caster sugar

    250 grams plain flour

    A drop vanilla essence

    175 grams butter, diced

    Method

    1. Heat up air fryer to 360ºF.

    2. Add sugar and flour into a big bowl and mix until combined.

    3. Add 175 grams diced butter into the flour mixture and mix until crumb like texture is formed.

    4. Add the vanilla essence into the flour mixture, mix and knead until the dough is fine and smooth.

    5. Roll out dough until flattened with a rolling pin.

    6. Mold dough into 1 1/2 cm tall biscuit shapes.

    7. Transfer into the preheated air fryer and bake for 5 minutes.

    8. Adjust air fryer temperature to 320ºF and bake for 12 more minutes.

    9. In the meantime, add 50 grams butter into a bowl and beat until fluffy and fine.

    10. Add the 100 grams icing sugar into the butter bowl and cream until very light.

    11. Add lemon juice and lemon rind into the bowl, stir until combined and set aside.

    12. Take shortbread out and set aside to cool for 5 minutes on a cooling rack

    13. Fill two shortbread biscuits with the cream filling in between.

    14. Repeat process for the remaining biscuits.

    15. Serve and enjoy.

    Oaty Biscuit Sandwiches (Air Fryer)

    Preparation Time: 18 minutes

    Cook Time: 10 minutes

    Serves: 4 servings

    Ingredients

    100 grams butter

    150 grams plain flour

    ½ (beaten) small egg

    75 grams white sugar

    ½ cup oats, gluten free

    ¼ cup coconut, desiccated

    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    20 grams white chocolate

    Filling Ingredients

    50 grams butter

    100 grams icing sugar

    1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    Juice of ½ small lemon

    Method

    1. Add the sugar and butter into a bowl and beat until a fluffy and light consistency is reached.

    2. Add the vanilla essence, coconut, chocolate and the egg and combine.

    3. Add the flour into the butter mixture and combine well until dough like consistency is reached.

    4. Cut out dough with a medium sized biscuit cutter into desired shapes.

    5. Roll biscuits in oats until well and evenly covered.

    6. Heat up air fryer to 360ºF.       

    7. Transfer biscuits into a baking sheet and place in the preheated air fryer.

    8. Cook for 18 minutes.

    9. Set biscuits aside until cooled.

    10. In the meantime, add butter and icing sugar into a bowl and beat until combined and a creamy texture is reached.

    11. Add vanilla and lemon juice into the icing sugar mixture, beat until combined and set aside until needed.

    12. Add vanilla filling in between 2 biscuits and press together.

    13. Repeat process for the remaining filling and biscuits.

    14. Serve and enjoy.

    Air Fried Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

    Preparation Time: 15 minutes

    Cook Time: 25 minutes

    Serves: 8 servings

    Ingredients

    2 tbsps sugar

    2 1/3 cups flour, self-rising

    ½ cup Cheddar cheese, grated (add more for topping)

    ½ cup (frozen for 15 minutes) butter

    1 cup flour, all-purpose (to shape)

    1 1/3 cups buttermilk

    1 tbsp (melted) butter

    Method

    1. Use a silicon liner or parchment paper to line a buttered 7" metal cake pan.

    2. Add sugar and self rising flour into a big bowl and combine.

    3. Grate butter into the bowl with the sugar and flour mixture.

    4. Add cheese into the mixture and stir until completely combined.

    5. Add the butter milk and stir thoroughly until incorporated and the flour streaks become no longer visible.

    6. Add all purpose flour into a small cookie sheet and spread out.

    7. Spoon 8 equal sized dough balls into the flour in the cookie sheet and make certain that each dough ball do not touch the other.

    8. With clean floured hands, evenly cover each dough ball with the flour.

    9. Toss each ball gently with your hands to get rid of surplus flour.

    10. Transfer the coated dough balls into the parchment paper lined cake pan.

    11. Heat up an air fryer to 380ºF.

    12. Place the cake pan into the preheated air fryer basket.

    NOTE: Lower the metal cake pan with an aluminum foil sling and make sure the sling ends hang over the cake pan.

    13. Cook for 20 minutes.

    TIP: From time to time, check the biscuits to be sure they are not getting excessively browned at the top. Re-position the foil strips to cover any excessively browned parts.

    14. Check for doneness by slotting in a toothpick into the biscuit centers. If well cooked, the toothpick should come off clean.

    15. Cook for few minutes more, if the biscuits are not well cooked.

    16. Cover the top of the cheese biscuits with melted butter, using a brush and top with some more grated cheese.

    17. Return into the air fryer basket and cook for 2 more minutes.

    18. Take out the pan from the air fryer with the foil strips and set aside to cool for 1-2 minutes.

    19. Flip over to extract biscuits into a plate and separate the biscuits.

    20. Serve immediately and enjoy.

    Half Dipped Chocolate Biscuits (Air Fryer)

    Preparation Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 19 minutes

    Serves: 6 servings
